My Friend’s Little Sister Has It In for Me! Manga Will End With Volume 12 This Fall

The manga version of My Friend’s Little Sister Has It In for Me! is officially entering its final stretch.

The 11th collected volume of Hira Hiraoka’s manga adaptation revealed that the series will wrap up with its 12th volume, which is planned for release in early fall. Volume 11 shipped on May 7.

For fans following the romcom either through the light novels, manga, or anime, this means the manga side of the franchise is now basically one volume away from the finish line. No long “maybe it continues, maybe it doesn’t” situation here — the endpoint has been signposted.

The manga is based on Ghost Mikawa’s light novel series My Friend’s Little Sister Has It In for Me!, known in Japanese as Tomodachi no Imōto ga Ore ni Dake Uzai. Hiraoka has been drawing the adaptation on Square Enix’s Manga UP! platform, while Manga UP! Global is releasing the manga digitally in English.

That English digital release matters for Malaysia and SEA readers because official manga availability can still be very messy here. Some series get bookstore releases, some only appear digitally, and some are just stuck in licensing limbo. For this title, Manga UP! Global gives local fans a legit route to follow the manga without waiting for physical stock to maybe appear at Kinokuniya, local comic shops, or import sellers.

The original light novel series launched in April 2019, with illustrations by tomari. SB Creative published the novel’s 11th volume in March 2025. J-Novel Club is also releasing the novels in English, so readers who want the fuller original version have another official option beyond the manga adaptation.

The franchise has also already crossed into anime. A TV anime adaptation began on October 4 on TV Asahi and 23 affiliate channels as part of the NUMAnimation programming block, with Crunchyroll streaming the show as it aired.

For SEA anime fans, Crunchyroll availability is the key bit. If you discovered the series through the anime, this manga finale is a good reminder that the source-material ecosystem is bigger than just one season. Anime adaptations often stop before the full story lands properly, so the manga and light novels are where fans usually go next when they want more character moments, relationship progress, and the kind of romcom chaos that doesn’t always fit neatly into one cour.

The setup — friend’s little sister being especially troublesome toward the main character — sits right in that modern light novel romcom lane: sharp banter, teasing energy, and character dynamics built around who is honest, who is acting tough, and who is obviously catching feelings but refusing to say it. If that’s your comfort-food genre, the manga ending with Volume 12 gives the adaptation a clean stopping point to aim for.

No exact release date for the final 12th volume was stated beyond the early fall window, so fans should keep an eye on Square Enix, Manga UP!, and Manga UP! Global updates as the finale gets closer.
