My Sweet Marriage to My Ex-Nemesis Manga Gets English Release in 2027

One Peace Books has picked up the English license for My Sweet Marriage to My Ex-Nemesis, the manga adaptation of Toshimichi Uzō’s light novel series. The first English volume is scheduled to ship on 16 March 2027.

The manga is drawn by Shīme — also credited as Si-me — and adapts the novel series known in Japanese as Soshiki no Shukuteki to Kekkon Shitara Mecha Amai. If that title already sounds like peak rom-com chaos, yeah, that is basically the hook.

The story follows Roshi Saigawa and Ritsuka Nagira, two superpowered warriors who once stood on opposite sides of a fierce organisational rivalry. They were not just casual enemies either; their lives were built around battles, plotting, and trying to one-up each other. Then somehow, in very anime fashion, that rivalry turns into marriage.

So instead of clashing on the battlefield, Roshi and Ritsuka are now dealing with married life — the sweet parts, the awkward parts, and all the nonsense that happens when two former enemies try to build a home together. The setup leans hard into the classic enemies-to-lovers appeal: romantic tension, comedy, old baggage, and the kind of chemistry that only works because both characters are equally stubborn.

For Malaysian and SEA manga readers, this is one to keep on the radar if you enjoy rom-coms with a slightly spicy fantasy/action wrapper. The premise has the same kind of easy sell as many popular light novel adaptations: strong central gimmick, cute relationship chaos, and enough supernatural flavour to stop it from feeling like a plain domestic comedy. It is the sort of series that could land well with fans who enjoy rom-com manga but still want a bit of shounen-style energy in the background.

The 2027 date is still quite far away, so don’t expect to see it on local bookstore shelves immediately. But once the English edition is out, Malaysian readers will likely be able to look for it through the usual import-friendly routes — Kinokuniya Malaysia, online manga retailers, or regional sellers that bring in English manga volumes. As always with niche rom-com titles, early availability may depend on demand, so pre-orders will matter if you really want a physical copy.

The manga originally launched in Kadokawa’s Dengeki Maoh magazine in November 2024. Kadokawa later released the first collected Japanese volume in June 2025.

The source light novel series began earlier, with Toshimichi Uzō publishing the first volume under Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko imprint in October 2023. The novels feature illustrations by Kewi Hayashi, and the fourth volume was released in August 2025.

No anime adaptation has been announced in the provided source material, but this is exactly the kind of title that can build a fanbase quietly through manga and light novel readers first. If the English release performs well, it could help introduce the series to more international fans before any bigger media push happens.

For now, mark this as a future rom-com import watch. Former enemies getting married is not exactly a new trope, but when done right, it is still dangerously addictive.
