Nintendo is rolling out a new Switch 2 bundle in North America, and this one is a bit more flexible than the usual fixed-game package.
Instead of locking buyers into one included title, the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Choose Your Game Bundle will let players pick one digital game from three first-party options: Pokemon Pokopia, Mario Kart World, or Donkey Kong Bananza.
The bundle is set to arrive in the US in early June 2026 and will be priced at US$499.99. That gets you the Switch 2 system plus a download code. After setting up the console and connecting to the Nintendo eShop, buyers can redeem the code and choose one of the three games as their included digital title.
The three game choices are pretty different
This is actually a smart lineup because each option targets a different kind of Nintendo fan.
Pokemon Pokopia is the cosy pick. It is positioned as a building and collection simulation game, which should appeal to Pokemon fans who want something more chill than mainline battling. If you are the type who spends hours decorating, collecting, and slowly building up your little digital world, this is probably the one.
Mario Kart World is the safest family and party choice. For Malaysian households, this is the game that gets played when cousins come over during holidays or when everyone wants something easy to understand but chaotic enough to shout at the TV.
Donkey Kong Bananza covers the action-adventure side, giving the bundle a more traditional single-player Nintendo option.
Previously, Nintendo had been offering a Switch 2 bundle tied to Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 at major retailers. This new package looks like it will take that slot, but with more player choice baked in.
Why Malaysia and SEA buyers should care
To be clear, this is a North American bundle announcement, not a Malaysia launch confirmation. But it still matters for us because Nintendo hardware pricing in SEA often gets shaped by import stock, parallel sellers, and regional availability.
At US$499.99, the bundle works out to roughly the low RM2,000 range before local markup, shipping, tax, and retailer margins. Once it reaches Malaysia through import channels, don’t be shocked if the final shelf price climbs noticeably higher, especially if stock is limited at launch.
The bigger issue is timing. Siliconera notes that the bundle is coming before a planned Switch 2 price increase. In the US, the standalone console price is expected to rise from US$449.99 to US$499.99 on September 1, 2026. The reported reasons include the AI-driven RAM shortage, shipping cost pressure linked to the Iran war, and tariffs under US President Donald Trump.
Nintendo has not said how long this Choose Your Game Bundle will stay available, or whether it will also jump by US$50 after that date.
For Malaysian gamers, that means one thing: if you were already planning to import a Switch 2, this bundle could be one of the cleaner early options because you are getting a full first-party digital game included. But if local pricing gets too spicy, better wait and compare against official SEA bundles, warranty coverage, and Shopee/Lazada seller reliability.
Pokemon fans will probably have their eyes on Pokopia, but honestly, Mario Kart World might still be the most practical pick for most homes. Either way, Nintendo clearly knows the Switch 2 launch window needs strong bundle value before prices go up.
