The next big One Piece chapter is moving another step closer for English dub fans. The TV anime’s Elbaph arc, which began airing in Japan on April 5, is set to debut its English dub this fall.
According to Anime News Network, Crunchyroll will stream the dub in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. That regional list is important for us in Malaysia and SEA: the announcement does not specifically confirm Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, or the Philippines for the English dub rollout yet.
So, if you usually follow One Piece through local streaming access, jangan terus assume it will appear here on the same day. The safest move is to keep an eye on Crunchyroll’s local catalogue closer to fall, especially because anime licensing in SEA can be a bit weird depending on territory.
Why Elbaph matters
Elbaph is not just another island stop for the Straw Hats. For long-time fans, this arc has been teased for ages, and it carries huge expectations because of its connection to the giants and the wider One Piece endgame. After Egghead pushed the series deeper into final-saga territory, Elbaph feels like the next major lore-heavy playground.
For Malaysian fans who watch weekly with friends, Discord groups, or anime café watch parties, the dub release also matters because it gives more people an easier entry point. Not everyone wants to chase subtitles every week, especially for a series with more than 1,000 episodes behind it. A strong dub rollout can help newer fans catch the hype without feeling completely lost.
New songs, new schedule
The Elbaph arc features opening theme song Luminous by singer Aina The End, while rock band 36km/h performs the ending theme Sono Mirai, which translates to That Future.
The anime is also operating under a very different production rhythm now. Toei Animation and One Piece anime producer Ryūta Koike announced in October 2025 that, starting in 2026, the anime would cut its annual episode output to a maximum of 26 episodes.
That is a huge shift for a show that has aired almost every week since 1999, with only a few exceptions. After the Egghead arc ended last year, the anime went on a three-month production break from January to March 2026 before returning in April with Elbaph.
Toei says the new pace lets the anime include more manga content, stronger tempo, and better pacing while still using the strengths of animation. Honestly, that is probably a good trade. One Piece fans know the old weekly grind could sometimes drag scenes longer than needed. Fewer episodes, if handled properly, could mean tighter storytelling and less padding.
Egghead’s long road to Elbaph
The Egghead arc first began in the anime in January 2024. In October 2024, the franchise announced that Egghead would pause to recharge before continuing in April 2025.
Part 2 of Egghead premiered on Fuji TV on April 5, 2025 with episode 1,123 overall, airing alongside a recap of Part 1. Episode 1,124 then aired on April 6, 2025 in a new 11:15 p.m. JST timeslot.
During that break, One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga aired instead. That 21-episode version condensed the Fish-Man Island arc with reshot scenes, retouched art, and other upgrades.
More One Piece is coming too
Outside the main anime, Netflix will stream all seven episodes of The One Piece, Wit Studio’s remake of the anime, worldwide in February 2027. Those seven episodes will adapt the first 50 manga chapters across roughly 300 minutes.
Basically, One Piece is not slowing down. For SEA fans, the main thing now is simple: Elbaph is here, the English dub is coming this fall, but we still need to watch the Malaysia/SEA streaming details before planning the watch party.
