Shueisha has shared the midterm results for the One Piece World Top 100 2nd character popularity poll, and honestly, no surprise lah: the Straw Hat Pirates are still looking extremely powerful with fans worldwide.
The update was posted through the official One Piece site and social channels, covering votes collected from both web voting and WT Spot 100 voting between 4 March and 19 April 2026. Based on this midterm snapshot, the main crew continues to dominate the upper ranks, though a few fan-favourite outsiders are making the top 10 fight much more interesting.
According to the update, four of the earliest Straw Hat members are sitting inside the top 10. Trafalgar Law is also making a strong showing at 5th place, pushing ahead of crew members such as Nico Robin. Meanwhile, Portgas D. Ace, Shanks, and Uta have also entered the top 10, with Tony Tony Chopper currently landing at 10th place.
Further down the list, the rest of the Straw Hat crew still has solid representation. Usopp is at 16th, Brook is at 20th, Franky is at 26th, and Jinbe is at 30th in the midterm ranking.
For Malaysian and SEA One Piece fans, this is the kind of poll that always sparks group chat arguments. Everyone has their ride-or-die favourite, and One Piece is one of those series where popularity is not just about screen time. Law’s high placement makes sense because his fanbase is still massive, Ace remains emotionally untouchable for many long-time readers, and Shanks is Shanks — every small appearance still gets people hyped. Uta staying in the conversation also shows how much impact the newer movie-era characters can have globally.
The interesting part is how global polls like this reflect fandom beyond Japan. SEA has been riding with One Piece for decades through manga, anime, merch, cosplay, cinema releases, and now streaming. In Malaysia especially, One Piece is one of those titles that crosses generations — older fans grew up with it, while newer fans are catching up through Netflix and Crunchyroll.
Voting for the 2nd Global One Piece Character Popularity Poll World Top 100 is still open until 11 June 2026, so these rankings are not final yet. The full results will be announced during One Piece Day ’26 in August 2026.
One Piece is also very active across formats right now. Viz Media handles the manga outside Japan, while the anime is available on platforms such as Crunchyroll and Netflix. Netflix also has the first two seasons of the live-action adaptation, with Lego One Piece planned for September 2026 and a new animated adaptation, The One Piece, also heading to Netflix.
Basically, if your favourite character is not where you want them to be, there is still time to vote. But for now, the message is clear: the Straw Hats are still the crew to beat.
