Pragmata guide: easiest way to unlock the “Who Needs Guns!?” achievement

Pragmata gives you a pretty flexible combat rhythm: shoot your way through, lean hard into hacking, or mix both depending on how chaotic the fight gets. But if you’re chasing achievements, the game sometimes asks you to commit to one style properly.

That’s where “Who Needs Guns!?” comes in. To unlock it, you need to deal 3,000 hacking damage in a single hack. Sounds simple on paper, but if you’re just playing normally, you might miss the right setup and wonder why your hacks are not hitting hard enough.

For Malaysian and SEA players grinding trophies or Steam achievements after work or class, this is exactly the kind of thing you don’t want to waste one whole malam figuring out. The good news: there’s a very farmable spot for it.

Best place to try: Training Simulation 16

One of the easiest places to attempt this achievement is inside the Shelter’s Training Simulations, specifically:

Training Simulation 16: Crack & Crash

The training objective tells you to clear enemies using weapons within 120 seconds, but don’t let that distract you. This simulation is actually a solid achievement farm because the arena gives you plenty of hacking opportunities, a good enemy target, and the option to quickly restart if your run goes sideways.

You also won’t have many non-primary weapon tools getting in the way, so the focus naturally shifts toward hacking and node management.

What to do when the simulation starts

As soon as the training begins, your priority is to collect as many Expose hacking nodes as possible. These are important because they help your next hack deal critical damage and make enemies easier to stagger.

You’ll first deal with smaller Lancer bots — the bipedal enemies with saucer-like heads. Don’t panic if you need to spend a few Expose nodes to clear them. The simulation has enough nodes around the arena, so using some early won’t ruin the attempt.

After the first Lancer goes down, a tougher enemy called a Crusher will appear. This is the target you want for the achievement.

How to hit 3,000 hacking damage

Once the Crusher is active, start hacking it while routing through as many useful nodes as possible on the hacking interface.

The two main node types to prioritise are:

  • Expose nodes — the yellow ones that boost critical hacking damage and stagger potential
  • Open nodes — the blue ones that help your hack route perform better

The trick is not necessarily to get 3,000 damage on your first try. Your first and second hacks may fall short, and that’s fine. The important part is that repeated successful hacks, especially when you keep passing through Expose and Open nodes, will build up your damage potential.

If your routing is clean, the third successful hack on the Crusher should be strong enough to cross the 3,000 damage requirement and pop the achievement.

If it doesn’t work, just pause and use Retry Training. That’s why this simulation is so convenient — you can reset quickly without running across half the game again.

Why this matters for SEA players

Pragmata is the kind of game that will likely attract completionists, Capcom fans, and sci-fi action players across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines. If you’re playing on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC via Steam, this achievement is worth knocking out early once you unlock the right simulation.

And with the Nintendo Switch 2 version launching on April 24, handheld players may want to bookmark this method too. Achievements and platform-specific completion systems may vary, but the combat logic should still matter if you’re trying to master the game’s hacking side.

Bottom line: don’t brute force this achievement in random fights. Head to Training Simulation 16: Crack & Crash, stack Expose nodes, bully the Crusher with smart hack routing, and let Diana prove that sometimes, memang who needs guns?
