Re:ZERO fans, prepare your weekly emotional damage again. Season 4 of Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- has dropped the preview images and trailer for Episode 3, ahead of its April 22, 2026 premiere.
The new season only began on April 8, but it is already moving like a proper heavy-hitter. According to Anime Corner, Season 4 ranked first in both of its weekly polls so far, which is not exactly shocking lah — Re:ZERO has always had that “one episode and suddenly everyone is arguing theories online” energy.
For Malaysian and SEA anime fans following the season weekly, the important thing is that this is not a short comeback. Season 4 is planned for 19 episodes, split across two consecutive cours and story arcs:
- The Loss Arc — 11 episodes, starting April 8, 2026
- The Recapture Arc — 8 episodes, starting August 12, 2026
Both arcs are still part of the same season, continuing after the events of Season 3. Based on the episode count, Anime Corner notes there should be roughly a two-month pause from around June 17 to August 12, assuming there are no recap episodes or extra weekly breaks in between. So yes, the wait in the middle might be painful, but at least we know the second arc is already lined up for Summer 2026.
What Episode 3 is about
Episode 3 picks up with Subaru in another classic Re:ZERO situation: confused, separated, and probably about to suffer more than any normal guy should.
After being displaced by Yin magic that warps space, Subaru ends up beneath the sand dunes and is suddenly woken up by Ram. He manages to reunite with Echidna, now in her “collar” form, and also with Patrasche. The problem? He is no longer with Emilia, Rem, Beatrice, and the others.
Through the twins’ shared sensory connection, Subaru and Ram are able to confirm that Rem is still alive, although she cannot move. That is good news, technically — but very Re:ZERO-style good news, meaning there is still a huge problem attached. The group also cannot locate an obvious exit nearby.
To get back to everyone, Subaru and his companions start pushing through an underground route. The preview description paints it as a cold, windless passage where the only thing breaking the silence is the sound of footsteps crunching against sand. Very cosy. Very normal. Definitely no trauma incoming, kan?
For fans in Malaysia watching week-to-week after class, work, or late-night Discord sessions, this is exactly the kind of setup where spoilers will spread fast. If you are not watching immediately when your local platform updates, mute those keywords early.
