Re:ZERO fans, we are eating again. The preview for Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 4 Episode 6 is now out, and the big hook this week is clear: Julius is stepping into a fight with Reid.
For long-time fans, that is the kind of matchup that immediately raises eyebrows. Re:ZERO has never been just about flashy fights — the series loves mixing trauma, politics, mind games, and absolute emotional damage — but when it decides to put strong characters in direct conflict, memang the tension hits differently.
Episode 6 is also Episode 72 overall for the anime, which is wild when you remember the first season aired back in 2016. Nearly a decade later, Subaru’s suffering simulator is still one of the biggest modern isekai names, and Season 4 is continuing directly after the events of Season 3.
Season 4 Is Split Across Two Arcs
Season 4 began airing on April 8, 2026, with WHITE FOX once again handling the animation. The season is planned for 19 episodes, split into two consecutive story arcs:
- The Loss Arc — 11 episodes, starting April 8, 2026
- The Recapture Arc — 8 episodes, starting August 12, 2026
That means fans should expect a short gap after the first arc wraps, assuming there are no recap episodes or weekly breaks along the way. Based on the listed dates, there could be around a two-month pause before the second arc begins in August.
For Malaysian and SEA anime fans following seasonal releases week by week, this is actually a nice setup. Instead of one long continuous run that risks production fatigue, Re:ZERO Season 4 gets room to breathe while still staying under the same season banner across Spring and Summer 2026.
Why Episode 6 Matters
The preview points toward Julius taking centre stage, with Reid involved in the episode’s key conflict. Julius has always been one of those characters who can look calm and polished on the outside, but Re:ZERO usually saves its sharpest character tests for moments like this.
And because this is Re:ZERO, don’t expect the episode to be just “cool sword fight, roll credits.” If the series has taught us anything, it is that every confrontation usually comes with emotional baggage, lore implications, and some form of pain waiting around the corner. Bro, Subaru can never just have a normal week.
The season has also started strong with fans. According to Anime Corner, Season 4 ranked first in the first three weekly polls of the season, showing that hype for the series is still very alive.
Main Staff and Cast
Season 4 is directed by Masahiro Shinohara, with original creator Tappei Nagatsuki involved as scenario supervisor. Masahiro Yokotani handles series composition, while Haruka Sagawa is character designer and chief animation director. Music is by Kenichiro Suehiro, with animation production by WHITE FOX.
The main cast includes Yusuke Kobayashi as Subaru, Rie Takahashi as Emilia, Inori Minase as Rem, Rie Murakawa as Ram, Satomi Arai as Beatrice, Kana Ueda as Anastasia, Takuya Eguchi as Julius, and Fairouz Ai as Shaula.
Re:ZERO is based on the light novel series written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shinichirou Otsuka. The franchise is also celebrating its 10th anniversary with 10 major projects announced this year.
For SEA fans who have stuck with Subaru since 2016, Episode 6 looks like another important checkpoint in Season 4’s first arc. Keep this one on your weekly watchlist — Julius vs Reid sounds like the kind of episode people will be clipping and arguing about online right after it drops.
