Re:Zero fans in Southeast Asia can breathe again — Season 4 is reportedly back on Crunchyroll after mysteriously disappearing from the service in some South Asian and SEA regions earlier this week.

The timing was pretty rough, because Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World- Season 4 is one of the biggest isekai releases of the Spring 2026 anime season. While the current anime slate has plenty of new shows and returning favourites, Subaru’s suffering simulator remains one of the main series fans are actively tracking week to week.

According to a new listing spotted by @animeupdates on X, the latest season has returned to Crunchyroll after being unavailable for a couple of days in affected territories. So far, it looks like the show is accessible again without major issues.

Crunchyroll has not publicly explained why Re:Zero Season 4 suddenly vanished in those South Asian and SEA markets. That means we do not know whether this was a licensing problem, a regional catalogue error, a technical issue, or something else behind the scenes. The important part for viewers is simple: the season appears to be back, and fans can continue catching up legally through Crunchyroll.

For Malaysian anime fans, this kind of thing is more annoying than people outside the region might realise. We already deal with enough platform fragmentation — one show on Crunchyroll, another on Netflix, another locked somewhere else, and sometimes titles vary depending on country. When a major weekly anime suddenly disappears mid-season, it messes with watch schedules, Discord discussions, TikTok edits, and the whole “watch before spoilers hit” routine.

That matters even more for Re:Zero because this is not exactly a casual background anime. Season 4 is building on years of story, trauma, resets, mysteries, and character drama. If you fall behind, good luck dodging spoilers once the big reveals start landing.

Outside the affected regions, ComicBook Anime notes that Re:Zero Season 4 has continued airing on Crunchyroll normally. New episodes are part of the ongoing Spring 2026 schedule, with both Japanese audio and English dub versions available on the platform.

Story-wise, Season 4 follows Subaru and the others as they push forward in search of a way to save Rem from her current condition. Julius is also involved after being hit by Gluttony’s power, which places him right in the middle of the difficult trials ahead. Similar to the intense challenge structure fans saw back in Season 2, Subaru has to endure brutal tests connected to a mysterious tower as the group searches for answers about Rem.

The season has already crossed its halfway point, so the timing of this return is good news. Re:Zero usually saves some of its nastiest emotional punches for the later stretch, and with the finale approaching in the coming weeks, SEA fans will want to be caught up before the story gets even messier.

If you are in Malaysia or elsewhere in the region and Season 4 vanished from your app earlier, it is worth checking Crunchyroll again. No official statement means we should not overread what happened, but at least for now, Subaru is back on the menu.
