Kadokawa has dropped the proper Season 2 update for Sasaki and Peeps, and yep, the weird little salaryman-meets-fantasy-bird anime is officially coming back soon.
The second season of the TV anime, based on the light novels by writer Buncololi and illustrator Kantoku, will premiere on October 7 at 11:00 p.m. JST. In Japan, the new season is set to air on Tokyo MX and BS NTV, with AT-X also carrying the show.
The new reveal includes a main promotional video, a fresh visual, and confirmation of two new cast members. The trailer also previews the opening theme song, “Unbroken” by MADKID.
For anime fans who track anisong artists, MADKID being attached is a solid signal. The group has become familiar to many viewers through high-energy anime openings, so Unbroken should give Season 2 a more punchy comeback identity instead of just quietly sliding into the next seasonal lineup.
What’s confirmed for Season 2
Kadokawa’s latest update confirms several production details for the new run. Returning staff for Season 2 include Saori Nakashiki and Yuki Sawairi as chief animation directors.
The previously announced new music producers are Kōji Fujimoto, whose credits include Tearmoon Empire and Mission: Yozakura Family, and Osamu Sasaki, credited on Ragna Crimson and Mission: Yozakura Family.
The first season aired in January 2024, starting with a one-hour special on AT-X before wrapping with its 12th episode. Crunchyroll streamed the series across several regions including North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS, and also streamed an English dub.
