Sekai Project has lined up more cat-ear chaos for visual novel fans, and yes, this one is very on-brand.
During its Anime Central panel on Friday, the publisher announced that it has licensed two visual novels for Western release in 2026: Animal Herb’s Neko-Mimi Sweet Housemates 2 (Uchi no Pet Jijou 2) and Whirlpool’s Neko-Nin exHeart Spin! 2.
The company also confirmed that it will release Nekopara 10th Anniversary -Sayori Art Works- as both a physical and digital artbook in the third quarter of 2026.
For Malaysian and SEA visual novel fans, this is the kind of announcement that matters more than it looks. A lot of niche Japanese VNs only become properly accessible here once they get an English release, especially for players who are curious about the genre but not ready to brute-force Japanese text. Sekai Project has been one of the more familiar names in that space, so two more licensed releases means the VN library available to English-speaking fans here keeps getting wider.
Neko-Mimi Sweet Housemates 2 continues Mint’s chaotic summer
Sekai Project also showed the opening movie for Neko-Mimi Sweet Housemates 2, featuring “Bitter sweet Mojito! -Remix Ver-” by Suzuka Nakahara, Soushi Hosoi, and Rekka Katakiri.
The sequel continues the heartwarming comedy setup from the first game, following Mint, a popular girl from the doujin circle Animal Herb. This time, the story moves into summer after the arrival of Lily, a half-human, half-demon girl from another world, and Cacao, who is part beast and part angel.
Things get even weirder when Mint meets Kuro, a mysterious girl with animal-like ears and a tail, but without the halo or wings that would make her easier to understand. Kuro keeps her distance from others, but she seems to be chasing a personal goal. Mint, being Mint, decides to help — and naturally pulls everyone into the mess.
Of course, this is not just a cute summer hangout. A darker presence begins to interfere with Kuro’s plans, turning the group’s vacation into something far less chill.
Sekai Project previously released the original Neko-Mimi Sweet Housemates in English in April 2022, the same month it launched in Japan.
Neko-Nin exHeart Spin! 2 brings back ninja cat-girl nonsense
The second licensed title, Neko-Nin exHeart Spin! 2, also received an opening video. Its theme song is “Senkuu Nyandertour” by solta feat. Yumeno Yuki.
This one is for readers who like their visual novels loud, silly, and packed with secret demi-human lore. The story follows Kikumaru, who discovers that Japan has demi-humans living quietly alongside regular society. He also learns that the underworld knows far more about them than ordinary people do, especially the Saiga clan, which has deep connections to demi-humans.
Kikumaru eventually finds out he is the illegitimate son of Magoichi, the head of the Saiga clan. After Magoichi suddenly disappears, Kikumaru gets dragged into a succession conflict. With help from Touka, a powerful cat-eared ninja girl, he awakens his hidden abilities and survives attacks from an old rival.
In Spin! 2, Kikumaru has Touka on his side, along with Chika, an assassin who once tried to kill him. But just as he starts thinking about how to rebuild the Saiga, new characters appear — including raccoons, foxes, and his long-lost little sister. The Fuma clan’s cats are also making their return, so expect the “nin-nin” energy to go full speed.
Neko-Nin exHeart Spin! 2 first launched for PC in Japan in November 2025. The original NEKO-NIN exHeart SPIN! debuted for PC in Japan in September 2023, before Sekai Project released it in the West for PC in July 2024.
If you are already deep into Nekopara-adjacent VN culture, this is probably an easy wishlist. If you are newer to visual novels, these releases are another reminder that the genre is not just heavy drama and romance routes — sometimes it is cat ears, ninja politics, summer chaos, and vibes.
