Shōko Nakagawa is jumping into The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch anime with a fresh ending theme for its second cour — and the song has a pretty interesting name attached behind the scenes.

Sony Music Labels announced that Nakagawa will perform “Twilight Magic”, the new ending theme for the anime’s second cour. For anime fans who don’t track broadcast terms: a “cour” basically means a roughly three-month TV anime block, so this is the song tied to the next quarter of the show’s run.

Nakagawa did not just quietly reveal the track online either. She unveiled and performed “Twilight Magic” during her Shōko Nakagawa 20th Anniversary Birthday Live event, giving fans an early live taste before the official release.

The track is written, composed, and arranged by TeddyLoid, which is the kind of credit that immediately makes anisong fans pay attention. For Malaysian and SEA viewers who follow anime through opening and ending playlists as much as the shows themselves, this is exactly the sort of update worth bookmarking. A strong ending theme can really shape how a series sticks in your head week to week — especially for fantasy school anime where the mood matters a lot.

The rollout is split across digital and physical releases. “Twilight Magic” will launch digitally in July, while the CD version is scheduled to ship on September 9. For most fans in Malaysia, the digital release will be the main one to watch, unless you are the kind of collector who imports CDs for the shelf — respect, but your wallet memang kena tahan sikit.

The anime is based on Yōsuke Kaneda’s manga The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch, also known in Japanese as Kuroneko to Majo no Kyōshitsu. Kaneda launched the manga on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app in March 2022. Kodansha released the manga’s 14th compiled volume on March 9, while K MANGA publishes the series in English.

On the anime production side, Naoyuki Tatsuwa is directing the series at LIDEN FILMS. Tatsuwa’s previous credits include Nisekoi - False Love, Promise of Wizard, and Seitokai ni mo Ana wa Aru!. Midori Gotō is handling the series scripts, with past work including Clean Freak! Aoyama kun and Mr. Villain’s Day Off. Character designs are by Takayuki Onoda, who worked on Hortensia Saga.

The voice cast update highlighted Show Hayami as Vice Principal Justice Libra, which already sounds like the kind of name fantasy-school anime fans will either love immediately or meme instantly.

For the current theme songs, ASCA performs the opening theme “Cusp”, while Spira Spica performs the ending theme “Tune Up.” With Nakagawa’s “Twilight Magic” coming in for the second cour, the anime is clearly keeping its music lineup active rather than treating the second half as an afterthought.

For SEA anime fans, especially those who keep seasonal watchlists on vibes, music, and staff credits, this is one to keep an eye on when July rolls around. Even if you are not fully locked into the series yet, a TeddyLoid-produced Nakagawa ending theme could be the hook that gets more people checking clips, playlists, and maybe the show itself.
