Solo Leveling fans who have been waiting to play Sung Jinwoo’s latest game on console, good news: Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive is heading to Xbox Series X|S in Q3 2026.

That means Xbox players should be able to jump in sometime between July and September 2026, assuming the release window holds. The game is already available on PC via Steam and Xbox on PC, so if you are mainly a PC gamer in Malaysia or SEA, you do not actually need to wait for the console version.

For anyone who somehow missed the Solo Leveling wave, the game follows Sung Jinwoo, the once-weak hunter who grows into an absolute monster as he clears deadly areas and fights increasingly dangerous enemies. It is positioned as a fairly direct adaptation of his journey, so the main hook here is simple: if you want to relive the anime or manhwa through an action game, this is built for that crowd.

That said, this is not exactly a guaranteed slam dunk. GamingBolt’s review was not especially impressed with the PC version, even though it pointed out that the game has some clear strengths. The pacing and presentation were considered highlights, while the combat can deliver fun moments when everything lines up properly.

The bigger issue seems to be that Arise Overdrive may appeal most strongly to hardcore Solo Leveling fans rather than everyone looking for a must-play action RPG. That is a bit painful, honestly, because Solo Leveling has the kind of power fantasy that should translate perfectly into a game. Jinwoo’s progression, the shadow army, the boss fights — all of that should be gila satisfying when done right.

For Malaysian and SEA players, the Xbox launch still matters even if Xbox is not the biggest platform in the region. A lot of local players are already split between PC, PlayStation, mobile, and handheld PCs, but an Xbox Series X|S release gives the game another chance to find an audience, especially among anime fans who prefer couch play over keyboard and mouse.

There is also the Jeju Island Story Update to watch. That arc is one of the bigger Solo Leveling moments, so if the update lands well, it could help refresh interest around the game before or around the Xbox release window.

For now, the safest take is this: Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive is probably worth keeping on your radar if you are already deep into the anime or manhwa. If you are not a fan yet, maybe wait and see whether the Xbox version improves the overall package or if the upcoming updates make it more compelling.
