Street Fighter 6 Adds Ingrid on May 28 as Year 3 DLC Continues

Capcom is keeping the Street Fighter 6 train moving, and the next DLC fighter now has a date: Ingrid joins the roster on May 28.

The announcement came through a new gameplay trailer, giving fans their first proper look at how Ingrid fits into Street Fighter 6’s already stacked lineup. She arrives as part of the game’s Year 3 Character Pass, continuing Capcom’s steady rollout of post-launch fighters.

For Malaysian and SEA players, this matters because Street Fighter 6 is still one of the main fighting games holding court at local sessions, esports meetups, and community brackets. Whether you’re grinding ranked at home on Steam, playing sets at a friend’s place, or watching the regional FGC scene, every new character can shift matchups and bring fresh lab work.

Ingrid joins the Year 3 lineup

Ingrid is listed as part of Street Fighter 6’s Year 3 Character Pass. According to the source material, the pass also includes Sagat, C. Viper, and Alex.

Sagat was added on August 5 as the first Year 3 Character Pass fighter. C. Viper followed on October 15, while Alex arrived on March 17 as the third character in the pass. Ingrid now rounds out the next big update with her May 28 release.

That is a pretty interesting mix for longtime fans. Sagat brings that classic Street Fighter heavyweight legacy, C. Viper is a fan-favourite technical pick, Alex gives grappler enjoyers something beefy to work with, and Ingrid adds a different flavour entirely. For SEA players who love character variety, this pass is not just nostalgia bait — it gives the meta more weird matchups to solve.

Street Fighter 6 has been building a serious DLC roster

Street Fighter 6 has already gone through several waves of DLC since launch. The Year 2 Character Pass started with M. Bison in June 2024, followed by Fatal Fury crossover guest Terry Bogard in September 2024. Mai Shiranui, another Fatal Fury crossover character, joined in February 2025, and Elena arrived on June 5 as the fourth fighter in that pass.

Before that, the first batch of DLC characters included Rashid, A.K.I., Ed, and Akuma. Capcom lets players buy characters individually or pick them up through a season pass, which is useful if you only care about one main instead of paying for the whole lineup.

That choice matters locally too. Not everyone in Malaysia wants to commit to every DLC drop, especially when players are juggling subscriptions, game purchases, and tournament entry fees. If Ingrid becomes strong or just fun to play, expect plenty of players to test her first before deciding whether she is worth adding to the account.

Still one of the biggest modern fighting games

Street Fighter 6 originally launched in June 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Capcom also released the game for Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, the same day the console launched, alongside the Street Fighter 6 Years 1-2 Fighters Edition.

The base roster already features returning names like Ryu, Chun-Li, Luke, Juri, Cammy, Ken, Zangief, Dhalsim, Guile, Blanka, E. Honda, and Dee Jay, plus newer fighters such as Jamie, Manon, Kimberly, Marisa, Lily, and JP.

Street Fighter 6 also includes a real-time commentary feature with subtitles in 13 languages. Commentators featured include Thea Trinidad, also known as Zelina Vega, Vicious, Aru, Kōsuke Hiraiwa, and Demon Kakka.

With Ingrid arriving on May 28, the big question is simple: will she be a serious tournament pick, or just a stylish character for loyal fans? Either way, the lab monsters are going to eat well.
