Sukuna in Marvel Comics? Bro, this multiverse thing is getting properly wild.
The King of Curses has made a surprise appearance in Marvel’s comic universe through Storm: Earth’s Mightiest Mutant #4, where X-Men icon Ororo Monroe is thrown across alternate realities during a battle with a version of her mother, N’Dare, from another world.
During that chaotic multiverse trip, Storm passes through a reality labelled the “Multiverse Cluster of Magic And Death”. And there, floating above a wrecked city, is Sukuna — strongly pointing to Jujutsu Kaisen’s infamous Shibuya Incident Arc.
It is not a full crossover, and no, Storm does not throw hands with Sukuna. Sadly, we are not getting lightning goddess versus King of Curses just yet. But the cameo effectively places Jujutsu Kaisen somewhere inside Marvel’s wider multiverse, which is a pretty big flex for Gege Akutami’s supernatural shonen.
Why This Is A Big Deal
Marvel and manga have crossed paths a few times before. Spider-Man has met Ultraman, Deadpool has teamed up with My Hero Academia’s All Might, and the Avengers have even fought threats from Attack on Titan. Even though Marvel’s Shonen Jump partnership reportedly wrapped up earlier this year, this new Sukuna moment shows the door is clearly not closed.
For anime fans in Malaysia and SEA, this is the kind of cameo that proves how mainstream anime has become. Jujutsu Kaisen is not just popular inside anime circles anymore — it is big enough that a Marvel reader flipping through an X-Men-related book can suddenly bump into Sukuna mid-destruction.
That matters because our side of the world has been locked into JJK for years. From Gojo edits all over TikTok to cosplay at Malaysian conventions, Jujutsu Kaisen has become one of those titles that even casual anime fans recognise instantly. Seeing Sukuna appear in Marvel is basically confirmation that anime culture is no longer niche background noise. It is part of the global pop culture main stage.
Don’t Expect A Full JJK x Marvel Anime Yet
Important reality check: this cameo does not mean an official Jujutsu Kaisen and Marvel crossover anime or comic has been announced. Right now, it is more of a multiverse nod than a proper story event.
Marvel has played in anime territory before, though. Studio Madhouse previously worked on anime adaptations for Iron Man, X-Men, Wolverine, and Blade back in the day. Those projects were very different from today’s anime boom, but they showed Marvel has been curious about the medium for a long time.
There is also more manga-meets-Marvel action coming, with Silent Mobius x Avengers planned for 2026. Silent Mobius creator Kia Asamiya is involved in that crossover, so clearly Marvel still sees value in connecting with manga creators and anime audiences.
Could Sukuna Return?
That is the big question. For now, Sukuna’s appearance is probably best treated as a high-profile cameo rather than a promise of future Marvel x Jujutsu Kaisen stories. But in comics, nothing is ever fully off the table, especially when multiverse logic is involved.
And honestly, if Marvel ever wants to do a proper anime crossover again, Jujutsu Kaisen would be a monster pick. Imagine Doctor Strange dealing with cursed energy, Blade hunting cursed spirits, or the X-Men trying to survive Shibuya-level disaster. Gila potential.
For now, SEA fans can just enjoy the madness: Sukuna has technically shown up in Marvel Comics, and that alone is already enough to make every JJK fan double-take.
