A new trailer is here for The Oblivious Saint Can’t Contain Her Power, and the fantasy romance series is starting to look like one of those July anime that could quietly pull in the light novel crowd.
The latest update confirms two more voice cast additions: Shunichi Toki will voice Theodore, while Inori Minase joins as Melissa. The anime is currently scheduled to premiere this July, with a previous visual already putting the spotlight on the main heroine, Carolina.
For Malaysian and SEA anime fans, this is the kind of title worth keeping an eye on if your seasonal watchlist usually has space for noble-family drama, political marriage tension, hidden-power heroines, and that slow-burn fantasy romance flavour. Not every show needs to be a loud battle shonen to become the Discord recommendation of the season — sometimes the best surprise is a character-driven fantasy series with just enough court drama to keep things spicy.
The anime is being produced by Magic Bus and Picante Circus, with Mitsutaka Noshitani directing. Toko Machida is handling the scripts, Taihei Nagai is on character design, and SUPA LOVE is composing the music. The opening theme, “Windmaker,” will be performed by Kaya.
The confirmed main cast includes:
- Rie Takahashi as Carolina
- Makoto Furukawa as Edward
- Haruka Shiraishi as Flora
- Shunichi Toki as Theodore
- Inori Minase as Melissa
The series began as a light novel written by Almond, first published on the user-generated fiction platform Shosetsuka ni Naro from 2020 to 2023. Earth Star Entertainment later picked it up, releasing it under the Earth Star Luna imprint in June 2023 with illustrations by Yoshiro Ambe. There is also a manga adaptation illustrated by Yona Eto.
For English-reading fans here, the useful bit is that J-Novel Club is publishing the light novel in English. That matters because if the anime hits with SEA viewers, there is already an official way to continue the story beyond the broadcast instead of waiting around cluelessly after episode 12.
Story-wise, The Oblivious Saint Can’t Contain Her Power follows Lady Carolina, the ignored daughter of a powerful duke. Her family is stacked: her father is the prime minister, while her older sister is a gifted mage expected to become the next Saint. Carolina, meanwhile, sees herself as the forgettable one — until a sudden royal order pushes her into a political marriage with the feared “Bloodthirsty Prince” from the neighbouring Empire of Malcosias.
From there, it becomes a mix of royal duty, danger, romance, and Carolina slowly discovering that she may not be as powerless as everyone assumed. Classic underdog noble girl setup, but if the adaptation nails the emotion and chemistry, this could be a comfy-but-dramatic July pick.
No Malaysia-specific streaming details were included in the announcement, so local fans should watch for platform updates closer to release. For now, the trailer and new cast reveal are a good sign that the July rollout is properly moving.
