Titan Manga has given English-reading manga fans an early look at two upcoming releases: Record Journey and High Elf with a Long Life.

The publisher revealed English-language previews on Tuesday for Ryoichiro Kezuka’s Record Journey — known in Japanese as Onban Kikō — and High Elf with a Long Life, the manga by rarutori, Ciavis, and Kō Narita.

For collectors and readers in Malaysia/SEA who follow English manga releases, the key thing here is timing. Both titles have shifted from their earlier release windows, so if you were planning to import or pre-order, better update your calendar now.

Record Journey now arrives in May

The first volume of Record Journey was originally lined up for April 28, but Titan Manga’s English edition is now scheduled to ship on May 26.

Pre-orders are already available through several overseas retailers, including Forbidden Planet in the UK, plus Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Books A Million in North America.

The manga itself has been running in Kadokawa’s Aokishi magazine since 2021. In Japan, Kadokawa released the manga’s third compiled volume on February 20.

Kezuka also has a self-publishing background. Before Record Journey, he self-published the Otomachi Record manga series, which Kadokawa later picked up and published in January 2023. Its second volume followed in February 2023.

That track record makes Record Journey one of those interesting releases for readers who enjoy discovering manga creators before they become bigger names internationally. Not every title coming through English publishers is a massive shonen hit — sometimes the fun is finding the quieter, more creator-driven works before your whole timeline starts talking about them.

High Elf with a Long Life moves to late June

Titan Manga also previewed the English edition of High Elf with a Long Life, officially titled in Japanese as Tensei Shite High Elf ni Narimashita ga, Slow Life wa 120-nen de Akimashita.

This one has also been delayed slightly. It was previously planned for June 9, but the English release is now expected to ship on June 30.

Pre-orders are listed via Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Forbidden Planet.

The manga first launched in Comic Earth Star in June 2021. Over in Japan, the series is already quite far ahead, with its ninth compiled volume released on January 9.

For Malaysian fans, this is the kind of title that may hit differently if you are already deep into fantasy reincarnation manga. The English release makes it more accessible for readers who do not want to wait for fan discussions or rely on fragmented online chatter. If local bookstores bring it in, expect it to sit nicely beside other slower-paced fantasy and isekai-style manga rather than the usual action-first battle series.

Why SEA readers should keep an eye on this

English manga releases matter a lot in Malaysia and across SEA because official local editions are still limited for many niche titles. Even when a series is not getting a big anime push, English print availability can help it find a real audience here — especially through import-friendly retailers, Kinokuniya-style manga sections, and online pre-orders.

Neither release is positioned as a blockbuster mainstream drop, but that is exactly why they are worth noting. Record Journey brings in a creator with a self-published history, while High Elf with a Long Life already has multiple Japanese volumes behind it. If you like collecting manga beyond the obvious Jump shelf, these two should be on your radar.
