Tsuya Tsuya is adding another branch to the Rakujitsu no Pathos universe, and fans of his messy adult drama style may want to mark August 18 on the calendar.
Akita Shoten’s Young Champion Retsu magazine revealed in its eighth issue that Tsuya Tsuya will begin a new manga titled Akatsuki no Logos — translated as Logos of the Dawn — in the magazine’s next issue. Rather than being a completely separate project, this new series is a spinoff of Rakujitsu no Pathos, Tsuya Tsuya’s ongoing manga that has been running since 2014.
The new story follows Takuma Takumi, a manga assistant working under Masami Jinbo. Masami herself is a college junior and also assists Aki Fujiwara, the aspiring manga artist at the centre of the main Rakujitsu no Pathos series. Takuma’s setup sounds very much in Tsuya Tsuya territory: he has to work with Masami inside a house where her sister also lives, while trying to maintain a sensible distance from the two beautiful sisters.
In other words, expect the familiar mix of manga-industry workplace setup, awkward proximity, temptation, and interpersonal tension. If you already know Tsuya Tsuya’s work, you probably know this is not aiming for clean-cut shonen friendship vibes, bro. This is more for readers who follow seinen-style romantic drama with messy adult complications.
For context, Rakujitsu no Pathos began in Bessatsu Young Champion in 2014. The original manga revolves around Aki Fujiwara and Makoto Nakaima, his former high school teacher who moves in next door with her husband. Akita Shoten released the series’ 19th compiled volume on May 20, so this is not some short-lived side project — it has been around long enough to build its own niche following.
This also is not the first time Tsuya Tsuya has expanded the setting. A previous spinoff, Tasogare no Ethos, launched in Young Champion Retsu in 2019 and focused on Makoto’s past. That manga ended in September 2025, with its fifth and final volume published in November 2025. With Akatsuki no Logos now stepping in, it feels like Young Champion Retsu is keeping that spinoff slot alive for readers who still want more from this world.
For Malaysian and SEA manga readers, the main thing to note is that this is currently a Japan magazine launch announcement, not an English or regional release confirmation. So don’t expect to walk into Kinokuniya KL or your usual online manga shop and instantly see a local listing. Still, Tsuya Tsuya does have some English-language presence: Seven Seas Entertainment released his three-volume Shiori’s Diary manga in English, which means his work is not totally invisible outside Japan.
If Akatsuki no Logos gains traction, it could become one to watch for collectors who follow mature romance manga, especially those who track Akita Shoten titles and spinoffs. For now, the clean takeaway is simple: Akatsuki no Logos launches in Young Champion Retsu on August 18, and it shifts the spotlight to a new assistant caught in another very Tsuya Tsuya-style situation.
