Witch Hat Atelier brings in two more cast members

The Witch Hat Atelier anime is still adding more names to its voice cast, and fantasy fans should keep this one on the radar.

The official website for Tongari Boushi no Atelier, better known internationally as Witch Hat Atelier, has revealed two additional cast members for the TV anime adaptation of Kamome Shirahama’s fantasy manga.

The newly announced roles are:

  • Dagda — voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi, known for work on Kimetsu no Yaiba / Demon Slayer
  • Custas — voiced by Toshiki Kumagai, known from Isekai Mokushiroku Mynoghra

That is a solid pair of additions, especially for a series where atmosphere and character presence matter a lot. Witch Hat Atelier is not the kind of fantasy story that survives on flashy magic alone; its world-building, emotional beats, and sense of wonder need voice performances that can carry subtle moments too.

The anime is already airing in Japan

The TV anime began airing on April 6 at 11:00 p.m. on Tokyo MX and BS11, with broadcasts also following on KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, and AT-X.

Behind the project, Ayumu Watanabe is directing the anime at BUG FILMS. Watanabe previously worked on Summertime Render, which is a pretty encouraging credit if you care about mood, pacing, and tension. Meanwhile, Hiroshi Seko, known for Owari no Seraph, is also part of the core staff.

For Malaysian and SEA anime fans, this is one of those titles that could land nicely with viewers who want something different from the usual power fantasy rotation. Witch Hat Atelier has a strong reputation among manga readers for its detailed art, softer magical tone, and more thoughtful fantasy storytelling. Basically, if you like your anime with gorgeous craft, mystery, and emotional stakes instead of just “MC unlocks broken skill episode two,” this one is worth watching closely.

Why SEA fans should care

Fantasy anime has been everywhere for years, but Witch Hat Atelier has always felt a bit more premium than the standard seasonal filler. The manga’s appeal comes from how magical its world feels without rushing every reveal. That matters for anime fans here too, because our seasonal watchlists are already packed — if a show wants your weekly attention, it needs a strong identity.

The additional cast also suggests the anime is continuing to build out its supporting world. For fans who follow voice actors, Katsuyuki Konishi is the bigger headline name here thanks to his connection with Demon Slayer, a series that is massive in Malaysia and across SEA. That recognition alone may get casual anime fans to take a second look.

Of course, the real test will be how the adaptation handles Shirahama’s art style and the manga’s slower, more delicate storytelling. BUG FILMS and Ayumu Watanabe have a pretty interesting challenge here: make the magic feel alive without losing the quiet charm that made the original work stand out.

For now, the cast list is growing, the anime is underway in Japan, and Witch Hat Atelier remains one of Spring 2026’s fantasy titles to watch — especially if you are tired of generic isekai noise and want something with actual craft.
