Yen Press is loading up its November release calendar, and manga/light novel readers in Malaysia may want to start watching their preorder lists.

The publisher announced that it has licensed 11 manga series and seven novel series for release in November. On top of that, Yen Press will also publish an audiobook version of Keiichi Hikami’s Elden Ring-themed novel See You at That Site of Grace After Work in the same month.

For SEA fans, this matters because Yen Press titles are often among the easiest English-language manga and light novels to track through import-friendly bookstores, online retailers, and specialty anime shops. If you prefer reading officially in English instead of waiting for fan chatter or scattered summaries, this is the kind of licensing wave that can shape your end-of-year reading backlog.

What’s in the new batch?

The headline names include Moscow 2160, Love at the City’s Edge on a Moonlit Night, and Terrarium in a Drawer, with other titles such as He Was My Brother, egg: I’m Your Child, and After-School Duty also listed in the announcement.

The lineup looks pretty varied, ranging from fantasy adventures and supernatural romance to military action and post-Demon King party drama.

One story is built around a legendary adventurer from an age before divine blessings shaped the land. Rather than focusing on an unstoppable hero, it follows a less-than-perfect figure whose big chance arrives when a king gathers powerful warriors for a major quest. The vibe sounds like fantasy legend mixed with comedy, which could be a fun pull for readers who like heroic myths but want something less straight-faced.

Another title heads into Kyoto’s spiritual underworld, following Kon, an onmyoji who is far more comfortable with spirits and yokai than ordinary humans. His work repairing magical barriers leads him into a red-light district meant only for yokai, where he meets Ibaraki, a beautiful four-horned demon with a complicated past. Supernatural romance fans, this one sounds like it could be spicy but character-driven.

There’s also a near-future war story where Earth is under attack by otherworldly monsters called giju. Humanity’s main weapon is powered battle armour known as Valkyrie Dresses, usually piloted only by women. That setup changes when Ren Hifumi is brought into a Valkyrie training academy after surviving a brutal experimental procedure, making him the test pilot for a new humanoid weapon.

Another fantasy title starts after the usual final boss moment. Hero Yuma and his party have defeated the Demon King, but the journey home becomes awkward when one party member suddenly walks away from fame and rewards. As Yuma travels back with the others, he realises the team that saved the world barely knows each other at all. That is honestly a strong hook — very “what happens after the credits roll?”

The batch also includes a reincarnation-style military fantasy about Hazen Heim, a new imperial officer stuck with awful bosses, corrupt leaders, and incompetent higher-ups. Luckily, he carries the knowledge of a legendary mage from a past life, so the power fantasy here seems less about saving the world and more about dealing with workplace politics using overwhelming magical experience. Relatable, in the most unhinged fantasy way.

Another novel follows Kyle, reincarnated into a fantasy world as part of the hero’s party. His crew seems close, until a goddess reveals that one of his trusted companions is secretly the Demon King. That gives the story a mystery angle on top of the usual fantasy party setup.

Why Malaysian readers should keep an eye on it

For local manga and light novel fans, Yen Press licensing news is basically an early warning system. It tells you what English editions may start appearing later through import shops, Kinokuniya-style shelves, online marketplaces, and digital storefronts.

The mix here is also very current: reincarnation fantasy, post-quest emotional drama, supernatural romance, military sci-fi, and even an Elden Ring tie-in audiobook. That’s a spread that speaks directly to what a lot of SEA anime fans are already reading and watching.

If you’re building a November haul, this Yen Press wave looks like one to bookmark early — especially if you prefer official English releases and don’t want to miss first volumes when they land.
