Youka Nitta is not done with Embracing Love yet.
The manga creator has said that more material from the long-running boys-love series is planned for spring 2027. Nitta did not lock down how much new manga will be produced, but said they intend to keep going and do their best until they are completely “dried out.” Very dramatic, very manga-author energy.
Nitta also thanked readers for sending in passionate requests and ideas, especially suggestions for scenes set during gaps in the main story. That detail is important because it suggests the upcoming material may not simply push forward in a straight sequel-style way. Instead, it could explore missing moments, side beats, or emotional spaces that longtime fans have been curious about.
Analysis / inference: For Malaysia and SEA readers who follow BL manga history, this is notable because Embracing Love is not some quick seasonal hit getting a bonus chapter. This is a title with a long publishing trail, multiple English-release chapters in its history, and enough fan demand that the creator is still responding to requests years later. Even if there is no Malaysia-specific release detail in the source, the development itself is worth watching if you keep track of classic BL manga returning through Japanese magazines.
Nitta has already been revisiting the series in recent years. Special chapters for Embracing Love began appearing in Libre Publishing’s Be-Boy Gold magazine from June 2020. More recently, Nitta published a two-part spinoff called Secret Chamber in the magazine’s August and October issues. The October issue shipped on Friday.
For newer readers, Embracing Love follows Iwaki and Katou, two actors whose relationship gets more complicated after film production ends. Viz Media’s SuBLime imprint publishes the original manga in North America in omnibus format, and its description highlights Katou taking a drastic step so he can continue seeing Iwaki after filming wraps, leaving Iwaki to react to the impulsive move.
The original manga ran from 1999 to 2009. It also inspired two original anime video episodes, which were licensed by Media Blasters. Over the years, the series has had a few English-release moments: Central Park Media released early volumes between 2005 and 2007, while JManga released the manga digitally in English in 2011 before shutting down in 2013.
Nitta has also returned to the franchise through related material before. A side story titled Time Share appeared in Be-Boy Gold’s February 2013 issue. Nitta later drew Haru o Daiteta: Alive, which launched in Be-Boy Gold in 2014 and ended in February 2020. Libre Publishing released its sixth and final volume in June 2020.
So, spring 2027 is the next window to watch. No format, chapter count, or wider release plan has been detailed in the source material yet, but the key takeaway is simple: Embracing Love still has enough pull for Youka Nitta to keep drawing more.
