Annapurna loads up Switch 2 with five indie releases, including free upgrades for Sayonara Wild Hearts

Switch 2 owners who prefer stylish indie games over the usual big-budget flex have something solid to look at. Annapurna Interactive has confirmed five games for Nintendo's new console, with a mix of free upgrades for existing Switch releases and new arrivals that never made it to Nintendo platforms before.

The headline drop is that Sayonara Wild Hearts and Lorelei and the Laser Eyes are already live on Switch 2. Both games now support 4K output on Nintendo's latest hardware, and they also get 120Hz support, which should be especially nice for players using compatible displays.

If you already bought either game on the original Switch, the upgrade to the Switch 2 version is free. For new buyers, Sayonara Wild Hearts is priced at $13, while Lorelei and the Laser Eyes comes in at $25.

There is also one extra reason to revisit Sayonara Wild Hearts. The Switch 2 version adds Remix Arcade mode, which was not previously available on Switch. That mode speeds everything up, cuts out loading, and leans harder into score-chasing. For a game that already feels like a playable pop album, that sounds like a pretty syok fit for handheld repeat runs.

Next up is Stray, which lands on May 28. Annapurna says the cyberpunk cat adventure is getting improved 4K visuals, a frame rate boost, and even mouse controls on Switch 2. It will be sold digitally on the eShop for $30. One detail still missing is whether current Switch owners will get a free upgrade here, because that has not been confirmed.

After that, To a T arrives on June 11 as a digital-only release priced at $20. This one is especially notable because the puzzle-adventure from Katamari creator Keita Takahashi skipped Nintendo systems when it launched last year. So for Switch-first players, this is basically their first shot at it.

Then on June 23, Wanderstop joins the lineup on both Switch and Switch 2. Annapurna says it will cost $25 on the eShop, and so far there is no word on a physical edition.

For Malaysian and wider SEA players, this is a pretty relevant batch even if you are not buying a Switch 2 just for raw power. Annapurna's catalogue usually sits in that sweet spot where games work well on portable systems, do not ask for a 100-hour grind, and still feel premium. That matters here because a lot of players in the region still treat Nintendo handheld play as a commute, travel, or lepak device, not just a living room machine.

The free upgrade angle is also a big win. If you already owned Sayonara Wild Hearts or Lorelei and the Laser Eyes on Switch, moving over to Switch 2 is much easier to justify. No need to double dip, which is always appreciated when game prices are already painful after currency conversion.

This also looks like Annapurna signalling that it plans to stay active on Switch 2 for the long run. People of Note already launched on the console earlier this month, and Mixtape is also on the way on May 7. So if your Switch 2 library still feels a bit kosong outside the obvious launch titles, Annapurna is helping fill that gap fast.

Not every game here is a mass-market blockbuster, but honestly that's the point. This is a strong lineup for players who want something stylish, weird, clever, and a bit different from the usual Nintendo rotation.
