Team Secret Rebuild Valorant Roster with Mix of SEA Veterans and Rising Stars
A Fresh Start for Team Secret
Team Secret have revealed their rebuilt Valorant roster ahead of VCT Pacific Stage 2, combining experienced veterans with promising talent in an ambitious bid to close the gap on regional powerhouse Paper Rex. The announcement, made via the organisation's social channels on Wednesday, marks the most significant investment Team Secret have made in their Pacific Valorant operations since entering the partnership league in 2023.
The previous roster was disbanded in February after a disappointing Stage 1 campaign that saw them finish 8th with a 2-7 record. Communication issues between the predominantly Filipino lineup and their Korean coaching staff were widely cited as the primary factor, with sources telling egg.network that in-game calls were being lost in translation during crucial rounds.
The New Roster
| Player | Role | Nationality | |--------|------|-------------| | JessieVash | IGL / Sentinel | Philippines | | Dubstep | Duelist | Thailand | | Jemkin | Initiator | Indonesia | | Lmemore | Controller | Philippines | | Xerxia | Flex | Thailand |
Coach: fiveK (Malaysia)
Malaysian coach fiveK, formerly of Bleed Esports, joins as head coach. During his time at Bleed, fiveK was credited with transforming the Singaporean squad from a mid-table team into playoff contenders. Crucially, fiveK is fluent in English, Malay, and conversational Thai — invaluable for managing a multi-national roster.
"The language barrier killed our last team," admitted Team Secret's esports director. "fiveK was our number one target precisely because he can bridge cultures and unify different perspectives into one system."
Building Around JessieVash
Filipino veteran JessieVash is the foundation of this new roster. At 26, he's one of the oldest active players in VCT Pacific, but his game sense and leadership qualities are considered among the best in the region. A former Counter-Strike player who transitioned to Valorant in 2020, JessieVash has accumulated more LAN experience than any other player on the roster and was previously the IGL for Team Secret's original Filipino lineup during the VCT 2022 circuit.
"I've been in esports long enough to know that talent alone doesn't win championships," JessieVash said. "We need structure, discipline, and a system that plays to everyone's strengths. That's what we're building here."
Player Profiles
Dubstep arrives as the roster's primary duelist, having spent the last year as a standout performer on Full Sense in the Thai Challengers circuit. The 20-year-old averaged a 1.31 rating in domestic competition and is known for his hyper-aggressive Jett play. His entry fragging numbers ranked first in the Thai scene last split, and scouts have compared his raw aim to a young f0rsakeN — high praise in any Pacific context.
Jemkin fills the initiator role, bringing experience from his time on Boom Esports' Valorant division. The Indonesian has been a consistent Sova and Fade player for two years, and his information-gathering ability is considered elite. His dart lineups on maps like Ascent and Bind are some of the most creative in the region, regularly finding value in spots that opponents don't expect.
Lmemore is the second Filipino on the roster and will handle controller duties. Previously with Zeta Division's Pacific academy, Lmemore's Omen and Astra play drew attention from multiple teams during the off-season. He is known for his clutch potential in post-plant situations, boasting a 38% clutch rate in 1v1 scenarios during VCT Challengers 2024.
Xerxia rounds out the five as a flex player, capable of filling sentinel or initiator roles as the composition demands. The Thai player spent two years on the former XERXIA roster (now rebranded) and has international experience from VCT Masters Copenhagen 2022. His versatility gives fiveK the draft flexibility to build compositions around specific maps without being locked into rigid player-agent assignments.
Role Synergy and Map Pool
On paper, the roles fit together logically. JessieVash's sentinel play anchors defensive setups, freeing Dubstep to take aggressive off-angles on attack. Jemkin's initiator utility provides the information Dubstep needs to entry with confidence, while Lmemore's smokes create space for coordinated executes. Xerxia's flex capability means the team can pivot between double-initiator and double-sentinel compositions without forcing anyone onto an uncomfortable agent.
The expected map pool strength lies in structured maps like Ascent and Lotus, where JessieVash's methodical IGL style thrives. More chaotic maps like Split could pose early challenges as the team develops its identity.
The Paper Rex Challenge
Team Secret's management have been transparent about their ambitions. "Paper Rex have set the standard in Pacific Valorant," said the organisation's esports director. "Our goal for Stage 2 is to make playoffs and build momentum. By Champions, we want to be in the conversation for the title."
That trajectory is realistic, but competition extends beyond Paper Rex. DRX, T1, and Gen.G remain formidable, and other rosters have also made significant off-season moves. Team Secret will need to find their identity quickly in a region that punishes slow starts.
Bootcamp and Timeline
The team will bootcamp in Bangkok for six weeks ahead of VCT Pacific Stage 2, focusing on building team chemistry and developing their tactical playbook. Scrims against Thai and SEA teams will form the core of their preparation, with fiveK planning a structured three-phase approach: individual skill benchmarks in weeks one and two, team system installation in weeks three and four, and competitive scrim blocks in weeks five and six.
The choice of Bangkok reflects the roster's Southeast Asian centre of gravity and gives the Thai players home-ground comfort while the Filipino and Indonesian members adjust. Team Secret have secured a dedicated practice facility in the Ratchathewi district.
Key milestones include showmatches against Thai Challengers teams in May, followed by the VCT Pacific Stage 2 group stage opener in June. If the rebuild goes to plan, Team Secret hope to be playoff-ready by mid-July and genuinely dangerous by Champions in September.
