What to Expect at AF+
Anime Fest!+ follows the Comic Fiesta format just at a smaller scale:
- Exhibition halls — merch, doujin, figure booths, prints
- Main Stage — panels, guest appearances, cosplay contests

- Games zones — fighting game casual setups and merch giveaways

Comic Fiesta Main Event — December 2026
The main Comic Fiesta hasn't confirmed dates yet, but based on every year since 2009, it'll be in late December (usually the weekend before Christmas, give or take).

The Cosplay Scene is Unreal
CF cosplay is on a completely different level. We're talking full armored builds, LED rig suits, screen-accurate movie props. The cosplay parade on Day 1 is basically a showcase of Malaysia's most talented crafters. If you're into cosplay at all, just spend two hours at the parade area and your brain will melt.
The CF Cosplay Championship is also the most competitive con stage competition in Malaysia — finalists here are genuinely world-class.
Artist Alley Hits Different
Malaysian doujin and artist culture is legitimately thriving, and CF's Artist Alley is where you'll find the best of it. Original IP, fan art prints, acrylic standees, sticker sets, zines — and it's all made by local creators. Some of these artists have massive followings online but you can buy their stuff for RM15 at a con table. Wild.
Best way to navigate: get there early Day 1 and do a full walk-through before spending. Popular artists sell out by noon.
Gaming Zones
CF usually has sponsored gaming areas — think Razer demo stations, mobile game tournaments, esports org booths. VCT and MPL teams sometimes show up for fan signing sessions. Free-to-enter casual tournaments with merch prizes are common.
Not the focus of CF, but enough to keep the gamer crew entertained between hall runs.
The Main Stage
Big production value. Guests change every year — past CF events have had Japanese voice actors, cosplay world champions, music acts. The lineup for December 2026 hasn't been announced yet but expect something worth queuing for.
First-Timer Survival Guide
Never been to CF (or Anime Fest!+)? Here's what nobody tells you:
Get there early. Doors open at 10AM. If you show up at noon, expect 30-minute entry queues and fully-picked shelves at popular booths.
Bring cash. A lot of Artist Alley tables don't do QR. RM200 is a reasonable spend budget for a single day if you're buying prints/merch. ATMs inside convention centres have queues by mid-afternoon.
Wear comfortable shoes. You will be walking and standing for hours. Don't cosplay in heels on Day 1 unless you enjoy suffering.
Bag policy: Large bags go to bag check. Small backpacks are fine. Convention organisers update this each year — check the CF social media before you go.
Cosplay weapons: Props must pass safety check at entry. No sharp edges, no projectiles. Check the official guidelines on the CF website.
Food: Convention centre food is overpriced. Sunway Pyramid mall is literally attached — grab lunch outside and re-enter (re-entry is allowed with your wristband/pass).
