Overview
Silent Hill: Townfall is a 2026 survival horror game and a standalone spin-off of the Silent Hill franchise. It was developed by Screen Burn Interactive and published by Konami Digital Entertainment and Annapurna Interactive. The game features a cast led by Jovan Adepo, Kezia Burrows and Terry O'Quinn.
Gameplay
Silent Hill: Townfall is played from a first-person perspective. The game focuses on three characters — Simon, Zoe and Richard — across six chapters.
Each character can defend themselves with melee weapons such as planks and pipes, as well as ranged weapons including a pistol, shotgun and flare gun. Stealth is also part of the game, allowing characters to hide from enemies and move through the environment without being detected.
Players can throw bottles and bricks to briefly distract enemies or stun them. Simon also carries a CRTV handheld device, which can detect the location of nearby enemies through obstacles and walls.
Setting
Silent Hill: Townfall is set in 1996 in the fictional Scottish island town of St. Amelia. The story follows Simon Ordell after he awakens on the shore with no memory of how or why he is there.
As Simon explores St. Amelia, he finds the town covered in fog and seemingly abandoned, apart from monsters roaming the streets. He discovers a portable television device called the CRTV and is contacted by Richard, while also encountering Zoe Ellis, a local nurse he appears to have a connection to.
Release
Silent Hill: Townfall began development in 2022 by Scottish studio No Code, which later rebranded as Screen Burn Interactive in July 2025.
The game was first announced with a teaser trailer in 2022. Its first trailer was released during Sony's State of Play presentation on 12 February 2026, with more information shared during a Silent Hill transmission on the same day. Its release date was announced during the 2 June 2026 State of Play.
Silent Hill: Townfall was released on 24 September 2026 for Windows and PlayStation 5.
