The Sinking City 2 is a survival horror game developed by Frogwares and published by Frogwares. Inspired by the works of horror fiction author H. P. Lovecraft, it is the sequel to The Sinking City from 2019. The game presents a standalone story from its predecessor while keeping its horror focus in a new Arkham setting.

Gameplay

The Sinking City 2 is a semi-open world survival horror game focused on combat, exploration, and adapting to a changing landscape. Flood waters continue to rise as the game progresses, altering locations and affecting how players move through the world.

Players can collect resources through an inventory system and use firearms and melee weapons against enemies. The game also includes an optional investigation system. This system gives benefits to players and allows them to solve puzzles, unlock alternate options, and reveal lore or secrets.

Setting

The Sinking City 2 takes place in Arkham, Massachusetts, during the late 1920s. The city has been impacted by a supernatural flood, shaping the game’s opening premise and the survival horror environment.

Release

The Sinking City 2 was released on 18 August 2026 for Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is scheduled for release in 2027.
