Apex Legends Legend Tier List

Choosing the right Legend in Apex Legends can dramatically impact your squad's performance, especially in ranked play and competitive environments. This tier list evaluates every Legend based on their viability in the current Season 24 meta, factoring in ability strength, team synergy, pick rates in professional play, and overall win rate data. Whether you are a new player looking for a strong starting pick or a veteran optimizing your ranked grind, this breakdown will help you make informed decisions about your Legend pool.

The meta in Season 24 has shifted significantly following ability reworks, weapon balance changes, and adjustments to the ring timing that favor aggressive rotations. Legends who provide mobility, information gathering, and zone control have risen in value, while purely defensive characters have fallen behind in most scenarios.

Methodology and Current Meta

Our tier list is compiled from a combination of high-ranked play data (Diamond through Predator lobbies), professional tournament pick and ban rates, community feedback from competitive players in the APAC and global circuits, and our own extensive testing across all skill levels.

S-Tier Legends are the best picks in the current meta. These characters provide exceptional value in nearly every situation and are strong across both ranked play and competitive tournaments.

Bangalore has seen a resurgence thanks to her smoke's versatility in both offensive pushes and defensive retreats. Her rolling thunder ultimate serves as excellent area denial, and her double-time passive makes her deceptively hard to pin down. In a meta that favors fast rotations, Bangalore excels. Catalyst dominates zone control with her ferrofluid walls and barricades that can lock down entire buildings and chokepoints. Her ultimate creates massive barriers that block both vision and scanning abilities, making her invaluable in late-game ring scenarios. Conduit provides unmatched shield regeneration for her squad, enabling aggressive plays with a safety net that other support Legends cannot replicate. Her tactical reach allows her to support teammates from a distance. Alter brings interdimensional utility that reshapes how teams approach rotations and repositioning. Her void passages create flanking opportunities and escape routes that opponents struggle to counter.

A-Tier Legends are strong, reliable picks that perform well in most situations but may lack the universal dominance of S-tier characters. Wraith remains a staple thanks to her portal for safe rotations and her phase ability for disengaging from unfavorable fights. Pathfinder offers unmatched vertical mobility with his grapple and zip-line ultimate, making him a perennial favorite for aggressive players who value positioning. Bloodhound provides essential recon with their scan ability and ultimate tracking mode, though the prevalence of scan-blocking abilities in the current meta slightly reduces their ceiling. Newcastle is the strongest defensive Legend right now, with his mobile shield and castle wall providing flexible cover that moves with the squad rather than anchoring them to a fixed position.

B-Tier Legends are viable but situational. They can shine in specific team compositions or on certain maps but are not universally strong picks. Lifeline offers reliable healing and her care package provides guaranteed upgrades, but her lack of mobility or combat abilities limits her impact during fights. Gibraltar remains powerful in coordinated teams that use his dome and bombardment effectively, but his large hitbox and slow playstyle clash with the current aggressive meta. Fuse excels at area denial and flushing enemies from cover with his cluster grenades and bombardment ultimate, but his abilities lose effectiveness in open terrain. Horizon provides strong vertical mobility and her black hole ultimate is devastating when paired with grenade spam, though her tactical cooldown nerfs have reduced her consistency.

C-Tier Legends are currently underperforming relative to the rest of the roster. Mirage is fun and can create confusion in lower-ranked lobbies, but his decoys are easily identified by experienced players and his kit lacks team utility. Rampart struggles in a meta that punishes static positioning, as her amped walls and Sheila turret require setup time that aggressive teams will not allow. Revenant has fallen off after his rework settled into the meta, with his shadow form providing less value than initially anticipated and his abilities lacking the team-wide impact of higher-tier Legends.

Role Breakdown and Tips

Understanding Legend roles is critical for building a balanced squad composition.

Assault Legends like Bangalore and Fuse excel at initiating fights and dealing damage. Pair them with a recon Legend for maximum effectiveness. In ranked play, having at least one assault Legend ensures your squad can force engagements when you have an advantage.

Recon Legends like Bloodhound provide information that drives decision-making. Knowing where enemies are — or are not — is often the difference between winning and losing in high-level play. Scan abilities are most valuable during rotations and before committing to a push.

Support Legends like Conduit, Lifeline, and Newcastle keep the squad alive and fighting. In the current meta, Conduit's shield regeneration is preferred over Lifeline's health-based healing because shields are the first resource depleted in fights.

Controller Legends like Catalyst dominate area control and late-game scenarios. Their value increases dramatically in final rings where positioning is everything. If your team struggles with end-game consistency, adding a controller Legend to your composition can make a significant difference.

For SEA players specifically, the higher average ping in some sub-regions can make reaction-dependent Legends like Wraith slightly less reliable. Consider Legends whose abilities are less ping-sensitive, such as Bangalore or Catalyst, if you regularly play on servers with 50ms or higher latency.
