How to Top Up Valorant Points (VP) in Malaysia — All Methods

Last Updated: March 30, 2025

What Are Valorant Points (VP)?

Valorant Points (VP) are the premium currency in Riot Games' tactical shooter, Valorant. You need VP to buy weapon skins, bundles, battle passes, and the occasional Radianite Points top-up. VP cannot be earned through gameplay — you have to purchase them with real money. For Malaysian players, there are several ways to buy VP, each with different pricing, convenience, and payment options. This guide breaks down every method available so you can pick the one that saves you the most ringgit.

VP Pricing in Malaysia (MYR)

Here is the current VP pricing when purchasing through the official Riot client. Prices are in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and may vary slightly depending on the payment method or platform.

| VP Amount | MYR Price (Riot Client) | Price Per VP | |-----------|------------------------|--------------| | 475 VP | RM 16.90 | RM 0.0356 | | 1,000 VP | RM 33.90 | RM 0.0339 | | 2,050 VP | RM 67.90 | RM 0.0331 | | 3,650 VP | RM 118.90 | RM 0.0326 | | 5,350 VP | RM 169.90 | RM 0.0318 | | 11,000 VP | RM 339.90 | RM 0.0309 |

As you can see, buying in larger amounts gives you a better rate per VP. If you are planning to buy a premium skin bundle (which typically costs 7,100 VP), buying the 5,350 VP and 2,050 VP packs together is usually the most efficient approach.

Method 1: Official Riot Client (In-Game Purchase)

The most straightforward way to top up VP is directly through the Valorant client. Open the game, click the VP icon in the top-right corner, and select how many points you want.

Available payment methods:

  • Credit/debit card (Visa, Mastercard)
  • Online banking (FPX — supports Maybank, CIMB, Public Bank, RHB, Hong Leong, and most Malaysian banks)
  • Touch 'n Go eWallet
  • GrabPay
  • Boost

This is the baseline price. Third-party sellers rarely beat official pricing for VP since Riot controls the regional pricing directly. The advantage here is that the VP appears in your account instantly with zero risk of scams.

Method 2: Codashop

Codashop is one of the most popular third-party top-up platforms in Southeast Asia. It is an official Riot partner, meaning your purchase is legitimate and safe.

How to buy VP on Codashop:

  1. Go to Codashop.com and select Valorant.
  2. Enter your Riot ID (e.g., Player#1234).
  3. Choose the VP amount.
  4. Select your payment method.
  5. Complete the payment. VP is delivered within minutes.

Payment methods on Codashop:

  • Touch 'n Go eWallet
  • GrabPay
  • Boost
  • Online banking (FPX)
  • Credit/debit card
  • Celcom, Digi, Maxis, and U Mobile carrier billing

Codashop pricing is generally the same as the Riot client, but they occasionally run promotions that give bonus VP or cashback. Keep an eye on their homepage for Malaysian-specific deals, especially during festive seasons like Hari Raya or year-end sales.

Method 3: Razer Gold

Razer Gold is a virtual credit system popular across Southeast Asia. You load up your Razer Gold wallet and use it to buy VP.

How to use Razer Gold for VP:

  1. Create a Razer Gold account at gold.razer.com.
  2. Top up your Razer Gold wallet using Touch 'n Go, GrabPay, online banking, or convenience store vouchers.
  3. In the Valorant client, select Razer Gold as the payment method when buying VP.

The main benefit of Razer Gold is the Razer Silver rewards programme. Every purchase earns you Razer Silver points, which you can redeem for Razer Gold credit, gaming peripherals, or game vouchers. If you are already in the Razer ecosystem, this adds value on top of your VP purchase.

Razer Gold pricing matches the official Riot pricing. The bonus is purely in the loyalty rewards.

Method 4: Touch 'n Go eWallet

Touch 'n Go is accepted both on the Riot client directly and through Codashop. If you prefer using your TnG balance, you can top up VP without needing a bank card at all.

For players under 18 or those who do not have a bank account, Touch 'n Go is often the easiest route. You can reload your TnG wallet at 7-Eleven, KK Mart, or any Touch 'n Go reload point, then use that balance to purchase VP.

Method 5: GrabPay

GrabPay works similarly to Touch 'n Go. It is accepted on the Riot client and on Codashop. If you frequently use Grab for rides or food delivery, you likely already have a loaded GrabPay wallet. Using GrabPay for VP purchases also earns you GrabRewards points, which is a small but welcome bonus.

Method 6: 7-Eleven and Convenience Stores

You cannot buy VP directly at 7-Eleven, but you can purchase Razer Gold PINs at most 7-Eleven, KK Mart, and myNEWS outlets across Malaysia. These PINs come in denominations of RM 10, RM 20, RM 50, and RM 100.

Steps:

  1. Buy a Razer Gold PIN at the counter.
  2. Redeem the PIN on your Razer Gold account.
  3. Use Razer Gold to purchase VP in the Valorant client.

This is a solid option for cash-only buyers. The downside is that Razer Gold PINs are sold at face value, so there is no discount — but you still earn Razer Silver rewards.

Method 7: Online Banking (FPX)

FPX (Financial Process Exchange) is supported on both the Riot client and Codashop. Almost every Malaysian bank is supported, including Maybank, CIMB, Public Bank, RHB, Hong Leong Bank, AmBank, Bank Islam, and Bank Rakyat.

This is the most familiar payment method for many Malaysian players. You will be redirected to your bank's login page to approve the transaction. No extra fees apply.

Which Method Is Cheapest?

For most Malaysian players, the price is the same whether you buy through the Riot client, Codashop, or Razer Gold. The base VP pricing is set by Riot and does not change across platforms.

However, you can effectively lower the cost through:

  • Codashop promotions: Occasional bonus VP or cashback during campaigns.
  • Razer Gold Silver rewards: Earning Razer Silver on every purchase, which you can redeem for future credit.
  • GrabPay/TnG cashback: Both wallets occasionally offer cashback campaigns on gaming purchases.
  • Buying in bulk: The 11,000 VP pack is roughly 13% cheaper per VP compared to the 475 VP pack.

The single best strategy is to wait for a Codashop promotion, pay with an eWallet that has an active cashback campaign, and buy the largest VP pack you can afford.

How to Gift VP to a Friend

Riot does not offer a direct VP gifting feature. However, you can gift skins and bundles to friends through the in-game store. When viewing an item, click the gift icon to send it to another player on your friends list. You pay with your VP, and they receive the item.

Alternatively, you can purchase a Razer Gold PIN and give the code to your friend so they can redeem it and buy VP themselves.

Common Issues and Troubleshooting

Payment failed or VP not received: If your payment went through but VP did not appear, wait 15 to 30 minutes. If it still has not arrived, contact Riot Support with your transaction receipt.

FPX transaction timed out: This usually happens due to slow bank responses. Try again, or switch to a different bank or payment method.

Codashop says "Invalid Riot ID": Double-check your Riot ID, including the hashtag and tag number (e.g., Player#1234). Make sure you are entering the Riot ID, not your in-game display name.

Charged twice: Contact your bank and Riot Support immediately. Duplicate charges are rare but can happen if you refreshed the payment page.

Final Tips

  • Always buy VP from official sources: the Riot client, Codashop, or Razer Gold. Avoid third-party sellers on social media or Discord offering "cheap VP" — these are almost always scams or involve stolen payment methods, and your account could be banned.
  • Check your Valorant region. Malaysian accounts should be on the Asia Pacific (AP) server. VP purchased on the wrong region cannot be transferred.
  • If you are a patient buyer, Valorant occasionally brings back older skin bundles in the Night Market, where items are discounted 10% to 50%. Stack this with a bulk VP purchase for the best overall value.
