Grand Theft Auto fans are once again doing what they do best: turning tiny signals into full-blown trailer theories.
The latest round of hype is around GTA 6 trailer 3, which many fans believe could arrive this week. The problem? Rockstar Games has not actually said anything. No teaser. No countdown. No cheeky social post. Nothing official.
Still, the theory train is moving because Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, has an earnings call scheduled for May 21. Fans are betting that Rockstar may want to show something before investors hear the latest business update. That is not a crazy idea on paper, but with Rockstar, logic only gets you so far.
The studio has been quiet for months. Its last major GTA 6 update came on Nov. 6, 2025, when Rockstar announced the game’s second delay. Since then, there has been no fresh confirmation on the final release timing beyond the planned launch date, no price announcement, and no proper breakdown of the marketing rollout.
That silence is exactly why the community is now digging into patterns. GTA 6’s second trailer arrived on May 6, 2025, around a year ago. It also landed nine days before Take-Two’s quarterly earnings report. If you apply that same nine-day gap to the upcoming May 21 earnings call, you land on May 12. Fans also noticed May 12 is a Tuesday, and Rockstar has dropped big trailers on Tuesdays before.
Is that solid evidence? Not really. Is it enough for the GTA community to lose sleep? Absolutely.
There are other small details feeding the speculation too. Rockstar reportedly updated one of its internal databases recently. Sony also sent notices to some PS4 owners who had wishlisted GTA 6, encouraging them to upgrade to PS5. On top of that, fans noticed changes to the PlayStation Store, including the reported removal of the “Deals” section, which some people are reading as prep work for GTA 6 pre-orders.
That last part feels like a stretch, but this is GTA 6 we’re talking about. Every tiny movement gets dissected like a patch note before an esports grand final.
There was also chatter around Game Informer’s new digital issue, since the magazine used to be known for major cover reveals. But the latest issue is focused on The Blood of Dawnwalker, not GTA 6. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has also been making public appearances and speaking in interviews, which some fans think is part of the pre-marketing build-up.
For Malaysian and SEA players, the wait matters because GTA 6 is not just another AAA launch. This is likely going to be one of the biggest console games of the generation, especially for PS5 and Xbox Series X owners here. It also comes at a time when players are watching prices closely, with ongoing speculation that the game could be sold at a higher premium price point. If that happens, local pricing in RM will be a big deal.
For now, the reality is simple: GTA 6 trailer 3 will drop when Rockstar wants it to drop. The timing does make sense, especially since Rockstar released the third trailer for GTA 5 around five months before launch, and Red Dead Redemption 2’s third trailer around six months before release. GTA 6 is currently planned for Nov. 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X, so the window is definitely getting warm.
But until Rockstar posts something official, semua ni still theory only. Fun theory, yes. Confirmed news? Not yet.
