Q2 2026 is stacked, bro. Between school holidays landing in June, MPL Season 14 heating up, and multiple con seasons overlapping, this is genuinely one of the busiest quarters for Malaysian fandom in recent memory.

Whether you're into gaming, anime, ACG, cosplay, or esports — there's something for you between April and June. I've pulled together every event worth knowing about, with dates, venues, and the practical stuff (tickets, registration, what to expect) so you're not scrambling last minute.

Save this. Share it. Your Discord server will thank you.

April 2026

TAGCC 2026 (The Anime, Games & Comics Convention)

Date: April 18–19, 2026
Venue: Mid Valley Exhibition Centre (MVEC), KL
Tickets: RM40 one-day / RM65 two-day | tagcc.com.my

TAGCC is the real deal for Malaysian ACG fans — consistently the best mid-year con in the country. Expect a packed artist alley, cosplay contest with serious prize money, imported merch you won't find on Shopee, and gaming booths running tourneys throughout the weekend.

What to look forward to:

  • Cosplay Competition (open category + age-tiered divisions)
  • Artist Alley with 100+ local and regional indie artists
  • Gaming Zone (fighting games, rhythm games, indie showcases)
  • Anime merch imports: figures, doujinshi, keychains, limited prints
  • Guest cosplayers from Japan and Taiwan (lineup TBA closer to date)

Tips: Buy your tickets online — physical ticket queues at the door were chaos last year. Bring cash for Artist Alley, most booths don't do QR pay. Saturday is peak crowd, Sunday morning is the power hour for deals.

MPL Malaysia Season 14 — Regular Season (ongoing)

Date: April through May 2026
Format: Online matches + live events (watch parties at various venues)
Watch: FB Gaming, YouTube, MPL Malaysia official TikTok Live
Tickets (LAN watch parties): Free to RM30 depending on venue

MPL Season 14 is in full swing. The regular season runs through April into early May, with playoffs expected in late May. Eight teams, brutal format, Malaysian Mobile Legends at its finest.

Key teams to track: Todak, GEEK Fam, Team HAQ, and some hungry newcomers gunning for spots. The MPL meta post-patch-1.8.58 has shifted hard toward burst assassins — matchups have been wild.

Watch parties happening at gaming cafes across KL, JB, and Penang — check the MPL Malaysia Facebook for venue lists closer to match weekends.

Bandai Namco Southeast Asia Gaming Festival

Date: April 26–27, 2026
Venue: Pavilion KL, Bukit Bintang
Tickets: Free (registration on Eventbrite)

Bandai Namco's doing their regional gaming festival in KL this year. Demo stations for upcoming titles (including Tekken 8 updates, Elden Ring spinoff content, and a surprise mobile reveal they've been teasing). Merch giveaways, photo ops with Gundam suits, and competitive brackets for Tekken 8.

Free entry but registration caps, so get on the list early.

May 2026

Gempak Starz Creators Fair 2026

Date: May 2–4, 2026
Venue: SACC Convention Centre, Shah Alam
Tickets: RM25 daily | RM60 full weekend pass

Gempak Starz pivoting hard into the creator economy this year. The Creators Fair combines Malaysian content creator meetups, webtoon/digital comic launches, and a cosplay showcase. Good for discovering local talent — this is where the up-and-coming Malaysian cosplayers and digital artists get their shine before the bigger cons.

If you follow Malaysian webcomic artists or local cosplayers on Instagram, chances are your favourites will be tabling here.

Valorant Champions Tour 2026 Pacific — Kickoff Watch Parties

Date: May 10–11, 2026
Multiple venues: Secret Lab flagship store (KL), Level Up Gaming (Damansara), and partner cafes in JB and Penang
Entry: Free

VCT Pacific 2026 Kickoff stage is the first big international LAN of the year and Malaysian fans are hyped — especially with Team Liquid Pacific (formerly Paper Rex) and the rising SEA teams competing. Local watch parties are getting organised through the Valorant MY Facebook community and Discord servers.

Check r/ValorantMY and the Valorant Malaysia Discord for venue confirmations and giveaway codes for exclusive in-game drops tied to watch party attendance.

Switch 2 Malaysia Launch Weekend

Date: May 15–17, 2026
Venues: All Switch stores, Harvey Norman, and GameXtreme locations nationwide
What to expect: Launch events, demos, preorder collection, launch exclusives

Nintendo Switch 2 is finally hitting Malaysian retail (official, not grey import) and the launch weekend is going to be an event. Switch stores are doing midnight launches in 1 Utama and KLCC, with demo units available for walk-ins all weekend.

Don't sleep on the launch bundle — Switch stores were teasing a Malaysia-exclusive bundle with a local exclusive carrying case. Official price: RM1,699 standard / RM2,099 bundle.

Comic Fiesta Mini 2026 (Rumoured)

Date: Late May 2026 (exact date TBC)
Venue: Unconfirmed — likely Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre or Mines International Exhibition Centre

CF Mini has been a thing the past few years — a smaller, more intimate event between the main December Comic Fiesta and TAGCC. Not confirmed officially yet, but the CF Discord has been hinting heavy. Keep an eye on their official channels; registration opens with maybe two weeks notice and fills up fast.

June 2026 — School Hols Season

June is school holiday season and that means every mall in KL is running a gaming or anime activation. The bigger confirmed events:

MidValley Gaming Carnival 2026

Date: June 6–14, 2026
Venue: Mid Valley Megamall, Ground Floor Atrium
Entry: Free

Annual mid-year gaming carnival at MidValley — always a good time. Mobile game booths, merchandise, local streamer appearances, rhythm game setups. Good for dragging non-gamer friends into the hobby.

AniMalaysia Summer Edition

Date: June 20–22, 2026
Venue: Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC)
Tickets: RM45 one-day / RM75 full weekend | animalaysia.com.my

Relatively new but growing fast — AniMalaysia has positioned itself as the summer complement to AFA (which typically hits in November). Focuses more on music and performance alongside the standard dealer hall and cosplay. Summer Edition usually features a concert night on Saturday.

Lineup for Summer Edition hasn't dropped yet as of publishing, but they've confirmed Japanese guest performances and a cosplay competition with RM10,000 in prizes.

VCT Pacific 2026 Stage 1 Finals Watch Party (Esports Malaysia)

Date: June 27–28, 2026
Venue: TBC — Esports Malaysia handling official watch party coordination
Entry: Free to RM20

Stage 1 Finals for VCT Pacific — the regional LAN semifinals and grand final — should fall late June. Esports Malaysia has been stepping up their watch party game this year with dedicated venue setups and cosplay contests at events.
