1TB iPad Air M3 Drops To US$849 — Worth Watching Even For Malaysia Buyers

Apple’s 11-inch iPad Air with the M3 chip has just received a very spicy price cut on Amazon US, with the 1TB model now going for US$849. That is a massive drop from its listed US$1,249 retail price, making it US$400 cheaper than usual.

For context, Android Authority notes that this is not just another small discount. The current price is also far below the tablet’s recent 90-day average of US$1,049.62, and is reportedly its lowest Amazon price so far by a huge margin.

Converted directly, US$849 is roughly around the RM4,000 range before shipping, taxes, and exchange-rate swings. So yes, Malaysian buyers still need to kira properly before hitting checkout. But even with that caveat, this is the kind of deal worth paying attention to if you were already eyeing a high-storage iPad for work, content creation, or entertainment.

Why this iPad Air deal matters

The headline feature here is the M3 chip, which gives the iPad Air enough horsepower for proper multitasking, photo editing, video work, note-taking, drawing, and heavier app use. For students, designers, creators, and mobile-first workers in Malaysia, that matters because the iPad Air sits in that sweet spot between the basic iPad and the more expensive iPad Pro.

The 1TB storage is also the real kicker. Most people can survive on smaller storage if they stream everything, but once you start downloading anime episodes, saving large Procreate files, editing 4K clips, storing games, or keeping offline documents for uni and work, storage fills up fast gila. A 1TB iPad is overkill for casual users, but for creators and power users, it means fewer headaches.

You also get Apple’s Liquid Retina display, which should be sharp and colour-rich enough for watching shows, reading manga, editing visuals, and gaming. It is not an OLED iPad Pro panel, so don’t expect the absolute best Apple screen, but for most users, the Air’s display is already more than solid.

Good for SEA users, but check the fine print

The model highlighted by Android Authority also includes Wi-Fi 6E and 5G support, which makes it more flexible if you work outside a fixed Wi-Fi setup. That is useful in Malaysia and SEA, especially if you’re always moving between campus, cafes, co-working spaces, events, or travel. Pair it with a local data plan and this becomes a very portable work-and-play machine.

Camera-wise, the tablet has 12MP front and rear cameras, so it should handle video calls, document scanning, and casual photos easily. Touch ID is also included for secure unlocking and payments.

That said, Malaysians should remember this is an Amazon US deal, not necessarily a local Apple Malaysia promo. Before buying, check shipping availability, final landed cost, warranty coverage, plug/accessory differences, and whether the cellular bands are suitable for your carrier. Sometimes a deal that looks amazing in USD becomes less attractive once import fees and support concerns enter the chat.

Still, if you specifically want a high-storage iPad Air and you’re comfortable buying from Amazon, this is a serious price drop. For creators, students, and tablet gamers who don’t need the full iPad Pro flex, the M3 iPad Air at this price is looking very tempting.
