Bose has announced its new Lifestyle Collection, a fresh home audio lineup built around flexibility: one speaker for a room, a soundbar for the TV setup, or a full multi-room system if you want your whole house sounding atas.
The collection includes three main products: the Bose Lifestyle Ultra Speaker, Bose Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar, and Bose Lifestyle Ultra Subwoofer. According to Bose, the lineup uses its latest in-house audio technologies and is designed to work together across different home setups, from a simple single-room speaker to a bigger living room entertainment system.
For Malaysian buyers, this one is interesting because home audio is becoming less about just “buy one speaker” and more about building a proper setup over time. Maybe you start with a smart speaker in your bedroom, then add a soundbar for Netflix, anime, console gaming, football nights, or YouTube rabbit holes in the living room. Bose is clearly aiming at that kind of modular upgrade path.
Streaming support is the real convenience play
The Lifestyle Collection supports Google Cast and Apple AirPlay, which means users can stream from different platforms without being locked into only one app. Bose also says speakers can be grouped together, including supported speakers from other brands.
That part matters a lot in SEA homes, because not everyone builds their setup from one ecosystem. One person in the house might be on iPhone, another on Android, the TV setup might already have a different speaker brand, and the family still expects everything to “just work”. Google Cast and AirPlay support makes this lineup more practical for mixed-device households.
Bose is also updating its app, with the company positioning setup as one of the simpler experiences in home audio. If true, that is a big plus, because nobody wants to spend half a Saturday troubleshooting Wi-Fi speakers when the whole point is convenience.
Pricing: premium, no surprise
In the US, the Bose Lifestyle Ultra Speaker is priced at US$299, which is roughly around RM1,400+ before taxes, shipping or local markups. The Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar is listed at US$1,099, roughly RM5,100+, while the Lifestyle Ultra Subwoofer comes in at US$899, around RM4,200+.
There is also a limited-edition Driftwood Sand version of the Lifestyle Ultra Speaker at US$349, roughly RM1,600+. The standard colour options are Black and White Smoke, while Driftwood Sand adds a softer beige look with a solid white oak base.
Important note: the source announcement does not mention official Malaysia pricing or local availability. So for now, those RM numbers are only rough conversions, not confirmed Malaysian retail prices.
Who is this actually for?
This is not budget audio, bro. If you just need loud sound for a small room, there are cheaper Bluetooth speakers and soundbars everywhere on Shopee and Lazada. But Bose is chasing a different crowd here: people who want clean design, easy streaming, multi-room flexibility, and a more premium living room setup without going full custom home theatre.
For condo owners, new homeowners, or anyone upgrading their entertainment space, the Lifestyle Collection could make sense if local pricing lands reasonably. The soundbar and subwoofer combo especially targets people who watch a lot of movies, anime, live concerts, esports streams, and console gaming on the big screen.
The lineup will be available from May 15, with preorders already open through Bose.com.
