Microsoft’s late-May Xbox Game Pass lineup is looking pretty stacked, especially if your backlog somehow still has space.
The main attraction is Forza Horizon 6, which is already available for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. This latest entry takes the open-world racing series to Japan, which is honestly a smart setting for a Horizon game — neon city streets, mountain roads, tight corners, scenic countryside, the whole package. Reviews have also been very positive so far, which makes this one of the stronger reasons to keep Game Pass active this month.
For Malaysian and SEA players, this is the kind of release that makes the subscription model feel less painful. Racing games usually work well for casual weeknight sessions, controller-on-sofa gaming, and quick Discord lobby hangs. Plus, Japan as a setting will definitely hit harder for players who grew up around anime, JDM car culture, Initial D references, and the general obsession with clean night drives and mountain passes. Memang ngam.
It also matters because Game Pass has needed big, obvious reasons to stay in the conversation. With Call of Duty no longer positioned as a day-one Game Pass pull in the same way, Microsoft needs titles that feel instantly worth downloading. Forza Horizon 6 is exactly that kind of showcase game: pretty, accessible, and easy to recommend even to people who are not deep into racing sims.
The other notable addition is Remnant II, landing on May 20 for Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass. If you missed it earlier, this is a third-person co-op shooter often described as a Soulslike with guns. That basically means you should expect enemies that punish lazy play, boss fights that can get sweaty, and builds that actually matter.
The good news: it supports up to three players, so this is one to pull into your weekend squad rotation. For SEA players, especially those who prefer co-op games over competitive ranked stress, Remnant II is a nice fit. It is challenging without being another toxic ladder grind, and the gunplay gives it a different flavour from the usual fantasy Soulslike formula.
Then there is Luna Abyss, arriving as a day-one Game Pass release on May 21 for Ultimate and PC subscribers. This one is a first-person narrative adventure about exploring a strange structure hidden deep under the lunar surface. It sounds more atmospheric and story-driven than the other two headline games, so if you want something slower, moodier and more sci-fi, keep an eye on it.
The rest of the month also has a few smaller additions. Escape Simulator joins on May 26, bringing puzzle-room energy to the service, while Echo Generation 2 arrives on May 27 with deckbuilder gameplay. Meanwhile, Dead Static Drive, Pigeon Simulator and Winter Burrow are being added to Game Pass Premium after previously being available through Ultimate.
Overall, this is a healthy late-May update. Forza Horizon 6 is the obvious download, Remnant II is the co-op pick, and Luna Abyss gives Game Pass a day-one indie-style adventure to round things out. If you are paying monthly in Malaysia, this is the kind of lineup where you can actually say, okay lah, at least the library is moving.
