Samsung Galaxy Glasses Could Show Up At July Unpacked

Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked could be more than just another foldable phone showcase. According to a new report, Samsung may finally reveal its long-rumoured Galaxy Glasses at its mid-year event, reportedly happening in London on July 22.

If true, this would be Samsung’s first serious step into the smart glasses fight — a space currently dominated by Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses. And honestly, this one is worth watching closely, especially for Malaysia and SEA users who already live deep inside the Samsung ecosystem.

Galaxy Glasses may finally get their debut

Android Authority, citing a report from Seoul Economic Daily, says Samsung is preparing to announce its smart glasses during the next Galaxy Unpacked event. Samsung had already confirmed plans to launch “Galaxy Glasses” in 2026, but until now, there has been no official date attached to the product.

The interesting bit: Samsung is reportedly working on more than one smart glasses model. Based on earlier comments from a Samsung executive, at least one version is expected to ship without a built-in display. The latest report suggests that this display-free model is the one we may see first at Unpacked.

That means don’t expect full Iron Man HUD vibes just yet. This could be closer to Meta’s approach — glasses focused on cameras, audio, AI features, hands-free controls, and phone connectivity rather than floating screens in front of your eyes.

For Malaysian users, that may actually make more sense. A simpler pair of smart glasses could be lighter, less expensive, and easier to wear daily in our weather. Nobody wants a bulky headset situation while walking around KL, Penang, or JB in 34°C heat, bro.

Why SEA should care

Smart glasses are still niche here, but Samsung entering the market could change that. Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses are popular internationally, but availability, support, and regional features can be messy depending on where you live. Samsung has a much stronger retail and service presence across Malaysia and SEA, from telcos to Samsung Experience Stores.

If Galaxy Glasses connect tightly with Galaxy phones, Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Watch, and Samsung’s AI features, they could become a practical accessory instead of just a flex item. Think quick photos at conventions, hands-free calls during commutes, live translation while travelling, or recording POV clips at events without pulling out your phone every 30 seconds.

For the ACG and gaming crowd, this could also be fun at local events like Comic Fiesta, AniManGaki, games expos, esports watch parties, and creator meetups. Of course, privacy rules will matter a lot. Smart glasses with cameras can get awkward fast if Samsung doesn’t make recording indicators obvious.

Foldables and Watch 9 also expected

The same report claims Samsung’s July Unpacked may also include the Galaxy Watch 9 series and its next foldables. The expected lineup includes the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and a new Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide model.

That “Wide” model is especially interesting because Samsung has been under pressure from Chinese foldable brands offering slimmer bodies, larger displays, and more aggressive hardware. A wider Fold could help Samsung answer complaints that its current Fold phones feel too narrow when closed.

Still, the Galaxy Glasses may end up stealing the spotlight if they really appear. Foldables are familiar territory now. Smart glasses are the wildcard.

Don’t treat it as confirmed yet

As always, this is still based on reporting, not an official Samsung announcement. The date, location, and product lineup could shift before Unpacked. But if Samsung is ready to show Galaxy Glasses this July, we may be looking at the start of a much bigger wearable push.

For SEA buyers, the key questions will be simple: will it launch here, how much will it cost in RM, and will the features actually work properly in our region?

If Samsung gets those three right, Galaxy Glasses could be more than a tech demo. It could be the first smart glasses product many Malaysians actually consider buying.
