Sony Xperia 1 VIII Price Leak Looks Brutal As Xiaomi 17T and Pixel 11 Specs Surface

Sony’s next ultra-premium Xperia is already making noise before launch — and not just because of the camera specs. According to GSMArena’s Week 19 recap, the Sony Xperia 1 VIII briefly appeared on Amazon with a properly scary price: €1,868.99 in Germany and £1,728 in the UK.

For Malaysian buyers, that is the kind of number that instantly becomes painful when converted. We’re talking deep RM9,000 territory before local taxes, telco bundles, import markups, or retailer pricing. Sony has since confirmed that the Xperia 1 VIII will be officially unveiled on May 13, so we should know soon whether that early listing was accurate or just a premature placeholder.

Xiaomi 17T Series Looks Like The Practical SEA Flagship Play

While Sony is flexing premium pricing, the leaked Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro look more like the phones SEA buyers will actually compare on Shopee, Lazada, and telco promos.

The regular Xiaomi 17T is tipped to feature a 6.59-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, a Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset, 12GB RAM, and 512GB storage. That already sounds like a very Malaysian-friendly spec sheet if Xiaomi prices it aggressively.

Camera-wise, the leak points to a triple rear setup: a 50MP main camera, 50MP 5x zoom camera, and 12MP ultrawide, plus a 32MP selfie camera. Battery is also looking chunky, with a claimed 6,500mAh cell and 67W charging.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro reportedly pushes things harder with a 6.83-inch 144Hz OLED display, a larger 7,000mAh battery, and 100W charging. It also gets an upgraded main camera, while keeping the other three cameras similar to the standard model.

If these numbers hold, the 17T Pro could be very interesting for mobile gamers here — especially if you play long MLBB, PUBG Mobile, or Honkai sessions and hate carrying a power bank everywhere.

Pixel 11 Specs Leak Early Too

Google’s next Pixel line also showed up in the recap. The Pixel 11 series is said to run on the Tensor G6, built on TSMC’s N2 2nm process. Every model is expected to have a 120Hz display.

The standard Pixel 11 is listed with a 6.3-inch screen, 8GB or 12GB RAM, a new main camera, and a 5,000mAh battery. The Pixel 11 Pro may offer 12GB or 16GB RAM, new main and telephoto cameras, and either a 4,850mAh or 4,900mAh battery. The Pixel 11 Pro XL reportedly steps up to a 6.8-inch display and a bigger battery.

There’s also a Pixel 11 Pro Fold leak, with 120Hz displays, a 4,800mAh battery, and a new main camera.

For Malaysia, the usual Pixel problem remains: specs are exciting, but official availability and pricing are always the big question. If Google ever treats SEA like a real launch region, Pixel could be a proper threat. Until then, many local fans will still be looking at import sets.

Other Phone Bits From The Week

The weekly recap also mentioned an iPhone Ultra dummy unit appearing in a hands-on video, showing off an unusual form factor — though the dummy dimensions reportedly do not fully match earlier leaks.

On the Samsung side, the Galaxy A27 is confirmed to be coming soon, while the Galaxy Z Flip8 may get a crease-free display and a new hinge, but mostly keep similar core specs. Samsung is also reportedly testing a 200MP main camera with variable aperture for the future Galaxy S27 Ultra.

Overall, Week 19 was very much a leak-heavy phone week: Sony may be going ultra-premium, Xiaomi looks battery-mad in the best way, and Google’s Pixel 11 family is already shaping up before launch.
