If you’ve been waiting for a proper “just give me the main parts” gaming PC deal, this Newegg bundle is worth a look — even if Malaysian buyers still need to do the usual shipping, tax, and warranty maths.
Tom’s Hardware spotted a combo that puts together AMD’s Ryzen 7 9850X3D, an Asus Prime GeForce RTX 5070, and a Rosewill VMG 850W Gold-rated power supply for US$940.99. The listed saving is US$293.98 compared with buying the parts separately, where the total would normally come up to US$1,234.97.
For Malaysia, that US$940.99 price is roughly in the RM4.4k range before international shipping, import charges, and exchange-rate nonsense. So no, this is not automatically a “click buy now” local deal. But as a pricing signal, it’s spicy — because you’re getting the three core pieces that define a gaming rig’s performance: CPU, GPU, and PSU.
Why this bundle actually matters
The headline part here is AMD’s Ryzen 7 9850X3D. According to Tom’s Hardware, it currently sits at the top for pure gaming performance, helped by AMD’s 3D V-Cache and a slight clock uplift over the 9800X3D. It’s an 8-core, 16-thread chip with a 4.7GHz base clock and up to 5.6GHz boost, which makes it especially strong in CPU-sensitive gaming scenarios.
That matters if you play esports titles where high frame rates are king — think Valorant, CS2, Apex Legends, Dota 2, or whatever your squad is grinding this month. In Malaysia and SEA, where 1080p high-refresh and 1440p monitors are both common among serious gamers, a fast X3D chip is not just flex spec. It can keep frame pacing smooth and help avoid CPU bottlenecks.
Paired with it is the Asus Prime GeForce RTX 5070, positioned here as a capable 1080p and 1440p card. The GPU comes with 12GB of GDDR7 VRAM on a 192-bit bus, plus 6,144 CUDA cores. Since it’s part of Nvidia’s 50-series lineup, it also supports the latest DLSS features, including multi-frame generation for boosting frame rates in heavier games.
Basically: this isn’t a “budget build” combo. This is more like the heart of a high-end mainstream gaming PC — the kind of setup that should comfortably target 1440p gaming, while still being extremely overkill for most esports titles at 1080p.
The PSU is not just filler
Bundles sometimes throw in a random power supply just to make the deal look bigger, but the Rosewill VMG 850W unit here sounds reasonably specced for a modern build. It is 80+ Gold rated, fully modular, and supports ATX 3.0 and 3.1. There’s also a PCIe 5.1 12V-2x6 connector for newer GPUs, plus a 120mm FDB fan aimed at lower noise.
An 850W PSU also gives the build some breathing room, which is good if you plan to add more storage, extra cooling, or future GPU upgrades. The included 5-year warranty is a nice bonus, though Malaysian buyers should still check how warranty support works if buying through US retail channels.
Newegg is also throwing in a copy of Capcom’s Pragmata with the Nvidia GPU purchase, listed as a US$59.99 value. Nice extra if you were already interested in the game, but the real value here is still the CPU-GPU-PSU combo.
For local builders, this deal is best used as a benchmark: if Malaysian retailers start offering Ryzen X3D and RTX 5070 combos near this value after conversion, that’s when things get really interesting. Until then, factor in shipping, warranty, and local support before smashing checkout.
