Nintendo’s New Switch 2 Pick-A-Game Bundle Is Good Timing Before The Price Hike Hits
Nintendo has dropped a bit of good news for anyone still hunting for a Switch 2 deal: new pick-a-game bundles are coming, and they actually look pretty solid before the next price jump kicks in.
According to GamesRadar, Nintendo is preparing new Switch 2 console bundles priced at US$499.99, with buyers able to choose from three digital game options: Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, or Pokemon Pokopia. The Mario Kart World bundle already existed from launch, but stock has apparently been hard to catch lately, so this refresh gives buyers more ways to get a game included without pushing the price higher — at least for now.
The key detail here: these are download-only game bundles, not physical cartridge packages. Nintendo says the new options are expected in early June, and the bundle effectively saves around US$30 compared to buying the console and game separately.
For Malaysian and SEA players, this matters because Switch pricing here usually gets messy fast. Even if Nintendo announces everything in US pricing first, local shops, parallel importers, and regional retailers tend to adjust based on exchange rate, shipment timing, warranty type, and demand. A US$499.99 bundle already converts to roughly the RM2,000-plus range before local markups, so any included game value actually counts.
The timing is also very Nintendo. The company has already outlined Switch 2 price increase plans, with the standalone console currently listed at US$449.99 and expected to rise to US$499.99 in September. That means these June bundles may only have a short window where they feel like a proper deal.
If the base console itself becomes US$499.99 later, then a bundle with a full game at the same price suddenly becomes extremely attractive — maybe too attractive to stay around. Nintendo could keep them limited, quietly phase them out, or raise bundle pricing as well. GamesRadar notes that whether these bundles disappear or move up to around US$549 remains unclear.
Game choice also matters here. Mario Kart World is the obvious family and party pick — the kind of title that will get played in dorm rooms, Raya gatherings, gaming cafes, and weekend hangouts. Donkey Kong Bananza gives platforming fans something more adventure-focused, while Pokemon Pokopia could be the system-seller for Pokemon fans who were already waiting for an excuse to upgrade.
If you are buying from Malaysia, the smart move is to check three things before jumping in: whether local retailers offer official warranty, whether the included game code works smoothly with your Nintendo account region, and whether the final RM price still makes sense after delivery or shop markup.
Bottom line: this is one of the better-looking Switch 2 bundle plays right now, especially if you were already planning to buy one of the included games. But if September’s price changes affect the bundles too, this June window could be the sweet spot before everything gets more expensive.
