Overwatch Stadium is about to get even more chaotic, because Jetpack Cat is officially on the way this season, and honestly bro, the mode was already wild enough.

According to what was shown in the Season 2 trailer, Jetpack Cat will be able to pick up two teammates at once. That alone is enough to make any Stadium player feel a bit takut, especially when the example shown includes a Reaper using his ult and an Orisa getting carried into the fight. If that combo goes live the way players think it will, teamfights could become pure nonsense in the funniest and most cursed way possible.

That said, the full list of Jetpack Cat's Stadium Powers still has not been revealed yet. So for now, a lot of the reaction is based on what players have seen in the trailer and how Stadium already works with its over-the-top item and power scaling.

And the community is already doing what the community always does, theorycrafting counters before the hero even drops.

One player joked that their sniper build is going to destroy Jetpack Cat, while others are already calling anti-flyer items must-picks the moment she appears in a match. That feels pretty believable. In a mode like Stadium, where builds can get ridiculous very fast, any airborne hero instantly becomes a target for players who are already stacking damage or range.

Ramattra could be a big answer too

Jetpack Cat is not arriving alone this season. Ramattra is set to join Stadium first, at the start of the season, before Jetpack Cat appears later in the mid-season update.

That matters because Ramattra already has a built-in answer to flying heroes: his vortex can drag them down. We still do not know what his Stadium-specific Powers will look like, but players are already expecting something that could make that anti-air utility even stronger.

If that happens, Jetpack Cat may arrive to a player base that is already prepared to swat her out of the sky.

More proof that hitscan is king

The bigger takeaway here is what Jetpack Cat might do to Stadium's meta.

Adding another flying hero likely pushes the mode even harder toward hitscan picks. Heroes like Soldier: 76 and Ashe already look like obvious answers if they can lock in early damage and focus Jetpack Cat before she turns a fight upside down.

The downside is that this kind of shift makes life even harder for heroes who are already struggling to keep pace. Genji was specifically pointed out as one of the names that loses out when raw hitscan damage becomes even more valuable.

For Malaysian and SEA players, that is probably the most useful thing to watch. If you and your squad are grinding Stadium, expect more pressure to run cleaner aim picks, stronger anti-air options, and more practical team comps instead of full meme setups. If your stack already loves Soldier, Ashe, or control tools like vortex, this patch direction may actually suit you nicely.

Not exactly the hero everyone wanted

Even with all the chaos potential, Jetpack Cat does not seem to be a fan-favourite addition for Stadium.

Some players are happy Blizzard is adding more than one hero per season, but there is also clear frustration that other heroes such as Illari, Symmetra, and Lifeweaver still have not made it into the mode. So while Jetpack Cat will definitely get attention, the reaction right now feels more like anxious curiosity than universal hype.

Still, that is also why this update matters. Stadium thrives on ridiculous interactions, broken-looking ideas, and players trying to outbuild each other. Jetpack Cat sounds like exactly the kind of hero that could create highlight-reel nonsense on day one, even if half the player base is already planning how to delete her on sight.
