Marvel Rivals is about to get a lot more slippery.
With Season 7 now at its midway point, NetEase has properly revealed Black Cat, aka Felicia Hardy, as the next hero joining the roster. She is coming in as a Duelist, and based on the first ability details, she looks like the kind of character that will dive in, mess up your positioning, then disappear before you can punish her.
Black Cat arrives as part of Season 7.5, which starts on April 17, 2026. That update is also bringing new characters and a new PvE mode called Blood Hunt.
According to a developer blog featuring creative director Guangguang, Black Cat’s design leans hard into two things: mobility and claw-based aggression. That fits the character perfectly. Instead of playing like a slow bruiser or a straightforward ranged carry, she seems built around quick movement, pressure, and opportunistic damage.
Her core movement tools already sound pretty nasty. Black Cat will have a grappling hook, plus the ability to climb walls and double jump. In a game where vertical movement and angle control can decide fights fast, that kind of kit immediately makes her look dangerous. Any hero that can take high ground, escape bad trades, and dive squishier targets on demand is going to force players to stay alert.
On the damage side, Black Cat can steal “Fortune” from enemies. That resource powers up her own attacks, which come through fast, heavy claw strikes. So this is not just style for style’s sake, there is an actual reward loop behind her aggression. The more successful she is at getting into fights and pressuring opponents, the stronger her offense becomes.
But the more interesting part is what she can do with that stolen Fortune after that.
Instead of keeping it all for herself, Black Cat can trade Fortune with the Gilded Saint to obtain treasures including the Ring of Zona, Helm of Hades, and Namor’s Mento-Fish. NetEase says these items can strengthen both Black Cat and her whole team in “unexpected” ways. That is a big deal because it suggests she is not just a selfish flanker. Depending on how strong those buffs are, she could end up being one of those Duelists who brings real team value while still threatening kills.
Season 7.5 is also adding a new team-up called Lucky Loan. This combo links Black Cat, White Fox, and Captain America, with Black Cat acting as the anchor. That means Felicia herself does not get bonus powers from the team-up, but the other two definitely benefit.
For White Fox, Lucky Loan upgrades her spectral fox tails so they can auto-seek enemies and allies, dealing damage and providing boosts. For Captain America, the team-up improves his shield with a bigger defensive radius and better reflection accuracy. That sounds very solid on paper, especially for coordinated squads that want more reliable frontline value.
For players in Malaysia and the wider SEA scene, this matters because Marvel Rivals is clearly still pushing fresh reasons to log in mid-season instead of waiting for a full new chapter. A high-mobility Duelist usually means meta shakeups, more experimentation in ranked, and a bigger skill gap between players who can actually track movement and those who panic when a flanker appears behind them. If Black Cat’s mobility and Fortune economy are tuned well, she could become one of the more annoying heroes to deal with very fast.
Of course, Black Cat is also showing up with a new skin straight away. Her first revealed cosmetic is Urban Predator, inspired by Black Cat (2019) #1. It gives Felicia a black two-piece look with “meow” across the top, which is exactly the kind of extra energy you would expect from this character.
She is not the only one getting fresh cosmetics in the update either. Blade is getting a Western-style outfit with a white cowboy hat and fringed jacket, while Spider-Man gets a look based on Peter Parker’s photographer day job, complete with camera in hand.
Season 7.5 is shaping up to be more than a filler patch. Between Black Cat’s movement-heavy Duelist playstyle, her team utility through Fortune trades, and the new Blood Hunt PvE mode, there is enough here to keep Marvel Rivals players busy when the update lands on April 17.
