GTA 6 Still Locked for November 2026, But Pre-Orders Are Not Live Yet
GTA 6 fans, breathe a bit — but maybe don’t open your wallet just yet.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has once again backed the current Grand Theft Auto 6 release date, saying in an interview with YouTuber David Senra that the game is still set to launch on November 19, 2026.
That matters because GTA 6 has already had a messy road to release. Rockstar’s monster open-world sequel was first expected sometime in 2025, then shifted to May 26, 2026, before being pushed again to the current November date. So yes, if you still have delay trauma, totally understandable bro.
For Malaysian and SEA players, this is the big one. GTA is not just another AAA release — it is the kind of game that will dominate Discord servers, cyber cafés, console group chats, TikTok edits, and probably half the conversations at mamak for launch week. If the Nov. 19 date holds, expect local retailers and digital storefronts to start getting very busy closer to release.
The less exciting update: those pre-order rumours from last week seem to have gone nowhere.
According to the original report, retailer chatter had pointed to Best Buy accidentally suggesting that GTA 6 pre-orders would go live on May 18. Naturally, fans connected the dots and started hoping Rockstar might finally drop more news, maybe a third trailer or even gameplay footage.
But May 18 came and went without the big moment. Rockstar’s usual social posting window of 9am CT — around 10pm Malaysia time — passed with silence. On top of that, a separate retailer internal email reportedly shared on GTA Forums claimed that Best Buy had got it wrong and that no pre-orders were happening that day.
So for now, no pre-order button. No new trailer. No gameplay blowout. Just more waiting.
Still, Zelnick repeating the Nov. 19, 2026 date is not nothing. At minimum, it gives players a firmer target to plan around. If you are thinking of buying a PS5, Xbox Series X, or upgrading your setup for GTA 6, this date is the one to watch. PC players, meanwhile, should probably stay patient until Rockstar confirms platform details properly.
The timing is also interesting because June showcase season is coming, including Summer Game Fest and the usual wave of gaming announcements. Rockstar does not always play by the same marketing rules as everyone else, but with GTA 6 now supposedly around six months away, fans are going to expect something soon.
For now, the situation is simple: GTA 6 is still officially aimed at November 19, 2026, but the rumoured May 18 pre-orders did not materialise. Good news and pain in the same package, basically.
