Hell is Us Heads to Nintendo Switch 2 This September
Rogue Factor’s Hell is Us is officially making the jump to Nintendo Switch 2, with the game set to launch on Nintendo’s new hardware on September 24.
The announcement was revealed during the latest Nacon Connect, giving Switch 2 owners another moody, combat-heavy adventure to keep an eye on. For Malaysian and SEA players who prefer handheld sessions over being locked to a TV or monitor, this one could be quite menarik — especially if the Switch 2 version holds up technically.
Hell is Us first released last year on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, and it has built its identity around being a Soulslike action-adventure that does not treat players like they need GPS every five seconds. Instead of throwing markers everywhere, the game expects you to read documents, follow clues, understand the world, and slowly piece together where to go next.
That approach is either going to sound refreshing or terrifying, depending on what kind of player you are. If you enjoy games that let you get lost and actually think — more Elden Ring exploration brain, less checklist open-world brain — this is probably your kind of pain.
The story follows Remi, an Organized Nations Peacekeeper returning to his childhood home of Hadea in search of his parents. Problem is, Hadea is already deep in a brutal civil war, and that conflict is feeding something far worse: the Calamity. This supernatural disaster creates dangerous creatures known as Hollow Walkers, turning the countryside into a proper nightmare zone.
Combat has an emotional twist too. The Hollow Walkers are tied to different emotions, and Remi can tap into similar forces to unleash powerful attacks with different effects. So yes, it has the dark fantasy combat angle, but the bigger hook is still the world design: hand-crafted dungeons, dense lore, and exploration that asks players to pay attention.
For SEA players, the Switch 2 release is worth watching because these kinds of atmospheric action games can hit differently on a portable system. Not everyone wants to boot up a full PC setup after work or class, bro. A game like Hell is Us could work nicely as a serious handheld adventure — assuming performance, loading, and visual clarity are solid on Nintendo’s hardware.
There is one caveat: the original release was praised for its exploration and world-building, but it also had a fair bit of backtracking. On a portable device, that might be easier to tolerate in shorter sessions, though it depends heavily on how smooth the overall experience feels.
No Malaysia-specific pricing or local physical edition details were included in the announcement, so local players should wait for eShop and retailer listings closer to launch. Still, with Hell is Us joining the Switch 2 line-up, Nintendo’s new console is getting another darker, more demanding game for players who want something meatier than the usual comfort picks.
