Hori’s Kirby And Waddle Dee Switch 2 Gear Is Finally Escaping Japan

Kirby fans, this one is dangerous for the wallet. Hori has confirmed that its Kirby and Waddle Dee Nintendo Switch 2 accessory lineup is no longer staying Japan-only, with the range now set to launch outside Japan from May 30, 2026.

The collection includes three Switch cases plus a matching Wireless Horipad Turbo controller, all officially licensed and very, very pink-purple cute. For Malaysian and SEA Nintendo fans, the big question now is simple: will local retailers bring these in properly, or are we going to be at the mercy of import pricing again?

For now, Hori has confirmed availability through local retailers, selected Amazon listings, and the official Hori Europe store. There is no specific Malaysia or Southeast Asia release confirmation mentioned yet, so don’t expect to casually walk into every game shop and see these on day one. But if you already buy Switch accessories from import sellers on Shopee, Lazada, or local game stores, this is the kind of product that usually finds its way here eventually — just with the usual markup.

The star item is easily the Kirby Plush Pouch, priced at £39.99. That is roughly around RM220 before shipping, tax, or reseller profit, so realistically Malaysia buyers should prepare for a higher landed price if it comes via import. The design is peak Kirby nonsense in the best way: Kirby’s face is puffed up like he just inhaled something massive, except this time the “something” is your handheld console. It fits the Switch 2, and also supports older Switch OLED and standard launch models. There is also space for accessories and up to six physical game cards, which is actually useful instead of just cute.

If the plush look is too loud for your setup, Hori also has the Puff Pouch at £24.99, around RM140 before extras. This one keeps things softer and more low-key, with a purple star design and a clear window showing Kirby and Waddle Dee. It also supports the full-size Switch family, though not the Switch Lite.

Then there is the Vault Case at £29.99, roughly RM165 before import costs. This one sounds like the most practical everyday pick. It comes in a deep purple finish with Kirby and Waddle Dee artwork, dessert-themed details, and a polka-dot interior. If you commute, travel for events, or carry your Switch to campus or office, a sturdier case like this makes more sense than just throwing the console into a backpack like a menace.

Hori is also releasing a Kirby and Waddle Dee version of its Wireless Horipad Turbo for £64.99, about RM360 before shipping and local pricing adjustments. It is not trying to be some ultra-premium pro controller, but it does include TMR sticks, up to 10 hours of battery life, and programmable rear buttons. The real hook is the design: translucent purple faceplate, Kirby and Waddle Dee art on the grips, plus pink and orange sticks matching the characters. Very collectible, very display-shelf coded.

For Malaysia, the timing matters because Switch 2 ownership is already not cheap. GamesRadar notes that the Switch 2 price is set to increase in the US and Europe from September, with the US price going to $500 and Europe rising to €500 from €470. That does not automatically mean Malaysian prices will move the same way, but grey import and parallel import pricing often reacts to overseas changes. If you are planning a Switch 2 setup with accessories, better keep an eye on stock and exchange rates.

Bottom line: this is not just another boring console pouch drop. Hori knows exactly how to weaponise Nintendo cuteness, and Kirby is one of the easiest characters to turn into must-have gear. Malaysian fans may need to wait for import listings or local shop announcements, but if the prices do not get too crazy, the Vault Case and controller look like the best balance of practical and collector-worthy.
