vivo X500 Pro Max Spotted, and It Could Be the Series’ Big Camera Beast

vivo’s next flagship line-up is starting to look a lot bigger than expected. After the vivo X500, X500 Pro, and X500e were reportedly found in the GSM Association’s IMEI database last week, another name has now appeared: vivo X500 Pro Max.

Yes bro, vivo is apparently joining the “Pro Max” naming club. Apple made the label mainstream, Xiaomi already leaned into it, and now vivo looks ready to use the same kind of branding for its own camera-heavy flagship.

For Malaysian and SEA phone buyers, this matters because vivo’s premium phones are usually aimed at people who care a lot about cameras, portraits, night shots, and big-screen media. If the X500 Pro Max eventually reaches our region, it could become one of those phones you compare directly against Xiaomi, Oppo, Honor, and Samsung flagships — especially if you shoot a lot at concerts, conventions, food spots, esports events, or cosplay gatherings.

What has been spotted so far

The key detail here is the IMEI database listing. According to GSMArena, the vivo X500 Pro Max has now shown up there, joining the already-spotted X500, X500 Pro, and X500e. That strongly suggests vivo is preparing at least four X500-series models before the expected X500 Ultra arrives later, possibly in early 2027.

That is quite a crowded family, but it also makes sense. Brands are now slicing flagship lines into more specific tiers: standard model, Pro model, cheaper variant, camera monster, and then the absolute Ultra version later. Confusing? A bit. But if priced properly, it gives buyers more options.

Rumoured specs sound very camera-focused

Based on an earlier rumour, the X500 Pro Max could come with a 6.9-inch display, which would put it firmly in big-phone territory. That is great for Netflix, manga reading, TikTok doomscrolling, and mobile games, but small-phone fans probably won’t be happy.

The camera setup is where things get spicy. The rumour points to a 50MP main camera using a LOFIC sensor, plus a 200MP periscope telephoto camera and a multispectral sensor. In normal human language: vivo may be building this phone around dynamic range, zoom, and colour accuracy.

That would fit vivo’s recent flagship direction. The brand has been pushing hard on portrait photography and long-range zoom, and a 200MP periscope camera would be a very serious flex if the final tuning is good. For Malaysian users, that could be useful for stage shots at concerts, anime cons, car meets, campus events, and esports arenas where you’re usually not right in front of the action.

Likely MediaTek Dimensity 9600 power

The X500 Pro Max is also expected to use MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9600 chipset. That is not confirmed yet, but it lines up with vivo’s previous pattern, since last year’s X300 and X300 Pro used the Dimensity 9500.

For gamers, the chip will be worth watching. MediaTek’s high-end Dimensity chips have become genuinely competitive, especially for Android flagships in Asia. If cooling and optimisation are handled well, the X500 Pro Max could be more than just a camera phone — it could also be a strong device for Mobile Legends, PUBG Mobile, Genshin, Wuthering Waves, and whatever other battery-melting game you’re grinding.

Malaysia pricing? Not yet

No official Malaysia launch details or RM pricing have been shared. So don’t start planning your Shopee cart yet. But if vivo brings this model to our market, expect it to sit firmly in flagship territory, especially with that Pro Max name and camera hardware.

For now, the X500 Pro Max looks like vivo’s temporary top camera flagship for the X500 generation, at least until the X500 Ultra shows up. If the rumoured specs are accurate, this one could be the model to watch for people who want big-screen Android power with serious zoom.
