007 First Light Switch 2 版本仍會推出，IO Interactive 老闆確認
IO Interactive 正在安撫那些擔心 007 First Light 會變成另一個尷尬 Switch 2 延期故事的 Nintendo fans。
在接受 The Game Business 的 Chris Dring 訪問時，IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak 表示，這款即將推出的 James Bond game 仍然計劃登上 Nintendo Switch 2。工作室目前瞄準的是該平台的 late summer release window，如果一切順利，大概就是 8 月左右。
玩家會擔心也很正常。Borderlands 4 原本預計去年 10 月登上 Switch 2，結果不只延期，現在開發還暫停了。所以當一款大型 third-party game 在 Switch 2 發售時間上開始講得有點模糊，玩家自然會緊張。
不過 Abrak 很明確表示，007 First Light 並沒有放棄 Nintendo 的新硬體。根據他的說法，遊戲已經可以在 Switch 2 上運行，但 IO Interactive 想要更多時間好好 polish。
“It’s running on the Switch 2. We just want to make sure it’s good as it can be. I don’t want to hear it wasn’t a good version,” Abrak said.
他補充說，工作室之前提過 summer，但現在目標很可能是 late summer。最重要的是，他表示 IOI 依然承諾會把它推出來。
“Bond has a special place on Nintendo. And I promise I will do everything I can, and I can do quite a lot being the CEO, to get that in a great shape.”
最後這句，大概就是 Nintendo fans 會抓緊不放的重點。James Bond 和 Nintendo 確實有歷史，尤其是傳奇的 GoldenEye 007 時代。對很多馬來西亞和 SEA 的老玩家來說，Nintendo 上的 Bond 不只是另一款 licensed action game——它有 nostalgia weight。
但同時間，馬來西亞 Switch 玩家也完全有理由謹慎。Nintendo 硬體上的 third-party ports 一向可以很神也可以很翻車，而當遊戲以粗糙狀態 launch，本地玩家感受會更痛，因為實體版、進口版和 digital purchases 都不是那種隨手買不心痛的價格。沒有人想付 premium launch pricing，結果拿到一個 performance 不穩的版本。
這個擔憂更明顯，因為 IO Interactive 之前的 Hitman: World of Assassination 在 Switch 2 上已經出現過 performance issues。它 launch 時有 frame rate 問題，IOI 後來還得 patch 加入 locked 30fps mode。所以當 Abrak 說團隊需要額外時間，把 007 First Light 做到 “good as it can be”，這大概是聰明的決定，而不是 red flag。
對 SEA players 來說，最理想的情況很簡單：多花幾個星期，好好 optimise，避免 day-one 翻車。只要 performance 撐得住，Switch 2 其實可以很適合 cinematic spy game，尤其是對那些想要 portable，但又想玩比一般 casual library 更 premium 作品的玩家。
不過，release window 目前還是有點軟。「Late summer」是令人鼓舞，但在 IO Interactive 給出確實日期之前，大家還是值得保持現實期待。好消息是，CEO 已經公開表示 Switch 2 版本確實會來。現在更大的問題是，它 launch 時的狀態到底值不值得玩家等。
